How are those of you who have received your strap finding it? I’m still waiting for mine in the UK.
It is different from a normal heartrate strap but you get used to it. You will need to wear it tighter then a normal strap as well. The only issue I find is it is finicky at getting the sensors connected to their app.
Any updates @mgboehmer ? Please let the Wahoo team know that we just paid $300 for our tymewear units. If we have to buy a Garmin computer to use them outdoors, we aren’t likely coming back to Wahoo anytime soon.
If you are having trouble getting a Tyme unit, just email Ari at support@tymewear.com and I’m sure he will send you one ASAP.
I’ve passed this thread to the people that can do something about it, nothing more I can do unfortunately. Given they seem to have worked directly with Garmin to have compatibility before public launch it will take us some time to catch up unfortunately.
Are there any updates on this? I get to like the TymeWear sensor, but the manual handling of files to get them merged and into I.icu is bothering me.
Will there be any support by Wahoo for the Bolt/Roam II anytime soon? If not I am likely going for a competitor, despite the advantage of the Wahoo (v2) screens and clean user interface…
hey there, any news regarding integration? I believe there’s more and more people receiving their tymewears and this integration would be so helpfull for both sides
Yeah waiting for mine to arrive and would love to see integration soon. Have been using Wahoo since the first Bolt and now use Bolt V3 and an Ace.
I guess the major thing is that Wahoo lacks an equivalent of Connect IQ so have to implement any integrations themselves, whereas Tymewear will have written their own app for Garmin devices. Unless the VitalPro really takes off I can’t see Wahoo being that interested in doing the work for it.
I did my first threshold test this morning - that was a tough ramp! The 3 minute duration of each step really makes a difference to how high the power can be pushed (I was cooked at 310W vs. 338 for my last Half Monty), but I’m super excited to get my results back. The graphs on the web app are very pretty. ![]()
I’m on the case, should have an update soon!
Another polite request here, update please!
Okay Wahoo, I bought a Garmin Edge 850. Took a moment to get things configured (the Wahoo advantage) but now have much more flexibility on pages, including DFA a1 & ventilation live displays.
The Roam will be on eBay soon. Good bye Wahoo.
Hey, not sure if not responding is a best strategy here. Can we please learn what’s the current status and timeline for this Tymewear support?
Unfortunately there is no timeline currently. It’s something we are evaluating alongside other sensor integrations as there are many. We are researching and testing those options as we speak, but there is no official timeframe.
This is a shame as I currently use a Garmin 540 head unit, which I’d like to replace with a Wahoo unit. But..
I’ve got the Thymewear breathing sensor, and also use Engo’s HUD sunglasses. These are supported by Garmin so I’m not swapping for now.
How many ‘other’ sensors are out there you need to evaluate? Core is already done. Surely NIRS devices like Moxy and TrainRed are too commercially priced to be given priority over tymewear. It’s not that hard to add a (three) new data field/s and new column/s into the fit file. +1 for this request. Hurry up please.
I’ve recently contacted Tymewear about something else but, alongside that, have asked them whether there’s anything occurring with integration with Wahoo computers. I doubt they’ll tell me anything specific but will post here if they do.
Aside from that, I’m finding my VitalPro really useful. I feel like my Zone 2 rides are properly dialled in now, whereas if I go by my cTHR as calculated by Systm they’re too hard (more like what Tymewear refer to as “Balance Point”). Interestingly, on doing a HM on my return to Systm at the start of the month, the FTP produced was within 5W of my most recent Tymewear VT2 a month previously, and the MAP was identical to my VO2 max power. Impressive!
Same, debating which bike nav i should buy and i’m here from the search engine, looking for any updates ![]()
Is it that realistic to expect Wahoo to put in the work necessary to support niche sensors from other manufacturers? It’s worth noting that neither Garmin nor Hammerhead have had to do anything themselves for the VitalPro to be compatible. Perhaps Tymewear are being “economical with the truth” in the screenshot. I find my VitalPro very useful and loved my Roam v1, but have recently picked up a Garmin 830 from eBay and it’s perfectly fine.
In fact, Garmin’s upcoming Cirqa band might see me go all in on their ecosystem as Connect has come on leaps and bounds in the time that I had my Roam.
