Wahoo KICKR CORE - Manual vs auto spindown

Why is there still the option to manually calibrate the CORE, if it auto-calibrates at the time? Is the manual result overriden as soon I coast for 1-2 seconds (and the auto-calibration sets in)?

As my power numbers seem to be too high, I would like to disable auto calibration. Is this possible?

From the Support page:

“To calibrate your CORE for the most accurate readings, we suggest doing a manual spindown calibration initially, or after physically transporting your CORE to a different location. Auto spindown calibrations will take care of incremental wear on the trainer. Spindown calibrations should be completed after the trainer has warmed up, at a minimum of 10 minutes of use, or ideally after your workout.”

Thanks for the reminder - apparently my last spin down was 243 days ago…

After a manual spindown it is feeling as expected again.

Noice!!

Hi Glen. A query, I see on this thread it says the new core v2 can be manually calibrated, I don’t have that option on mine. There’s no spindown option via the app or zwift. Had the option on my old core but not this. Any idea why.

Hey. Fwiw, I don’t work for the company but I can try to troubleshoot a bit with you. If you haven’t yet, I would submit a support request. https://support.wahoofitness.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

The link above was provided back in Sept 2024 and looks like it’s been updated a bit. It does seem kinda confusing though in terms of the Core v2 because they don’t specifically reference Core v2. Just Core.

I don’t have a Core. I’ve got a Kickr v4 and in the Wahoo App (WA) it gives me a spin down option if I navigate to devices, select the Kickr, then swipe down to the bottom of that page.

Are you saying if you do that it doesn’t say “Perform Spindown”? Can you snap a screen shot?

Same question. My Core is 10% (20 W) lower than asioma pedals. Don’t know that I can calibrate it. Can I?
