Wahoo Rival: step count and sleep tracking no longer work

I bought a Wahoo Rival after Christmas, and have been using it ever since. Occasionally, the UI of the Rival locks up and I need to reboot it manually. Since one such reboot about a week ago, it lost the connection to the app on my iPhone. It also no longer counts steps and tracks my sleep.

I have reset the watch and paired again with the Wahoo app twice, to no avail. Despite the resets, steps are no longer counted and sleep is no longer tracked. Is there anything else I can do?

@OreoCookie That definitely doesn’t seem normal. Reach out to support.

I submitted a support ticket and got a new Rival in the mail. Very good service, I must say.

What was solution for not available sleeping in Rival?

Wahoo replaced the Watch free of charge. It stopped tracking again, so I think I will just opt for an Apple Watch once the new ones are released this fall.

I enjoyed my Rival for exercise tracking. Was great for connecting to the Wahoo ecosystem and made connecting sensors and Tracking and connecting with other apps easy.

But it definitely work or didn’t feel like it was meant to be worn 24/7. Didn’t have RHR. Sleep tracking wasn’t great. 24/7 HR tracking was optional. I ended up with an Apple Watch, too (won in a contest). But when exercising and swimming and doing triathlon I would prefer either my Rival or my old Garmin 735xt. But for a 24/7 smart watch, I prefer an Apple Watch.

Out of curiosity, why? (I haven’t owned an Apple Watch yet.)

My wife has been using her Apple Watch for her runs and when she is in the gym. Seems to work very well.
