Wahoo X August Challenge - The Challenge of Champions

Did the MTB ride yesterday and barely survived :face_vomiting:

Oh was it my computer or my SYSTM app itself having issues because throughout the session, I couldn’t hear anything from the video. The only thing I could hear was the vroom vroom and the screech…

Sometimes the music setting gets turned off inexplicably. Check that out next time Sir @DarrenWCKam

Sure thing, Sir Glen, allow me to try that again (although there is no try in our great country).
Was actually searching for that setting but couldn’t find it and just endured the extra suffering. Haha

It’s the music setting. Sounds effects are the vroom vroom and screech thing.

Appreciate it Sir. Let me look into it later this evening.
Nothing must dull the suffering!

THE MINISTRY OF DO(om)

By default this is my setup lol. I always do the session in ERG mode, unless suggested otherwise. As an effect, I very rarely change the gear :joy:

But ERG mode will adjust your power output. @TrapMeSuf ‘s method would replicate a track fixie. Say do the whole thing big ring x smallest cog (im assuming).

Thanks for the further explanation. Never having ridden a fixie or paid much attention to track racing, I hadn’t really connected to what @TrapMeSuf was saying. Now it makes sense.
I think the video description should explain something along that line as a heads-up to consider before riding it. And maybe a little suggestion about an appropriate gear range to target. Generally, my KICKR Bike starts by default at small ring and 3rd cassette cog for ERG rides.
That would be a disaster as a fixed gear on a track, so some guidance would help, and then the rider could dial in from there once they see how it works.

Also, do I remember correctly that there WERE both power and cadence targets in that workout? If so, wouldn’t the rider need to take those “with a grain of salt” so to speak, depending on the gear they chose?

I have always wanted to start a thread about the stupidest or dumbest thing one has ever done on a bicycle, but I wondered how good an idea that would be.

If you don’t start it, I will… I think I could be a finalist in the standings!

Let us see how many Likes I get.
I might be good competition for you.

It’d be nice to know which workouts those could be swapped for as many of us have pre-existing plans in place.
I normally look myself for similar workouts but I’m not sure I have anything I can replace with the Omnium because it has such a wide range of events.

Oh good God, today’s session The Omnium is probably one of the lowest lows I had on SUF/SYSTM. Almost threw up everything I had in my tummy after the last and final sprint.

we call that digging deep, Sir  :clap:t2::clap:t2::clap:t2:

Couldn’t agree any less than that Sir.
Atually, I don’t remember myself feeling this bad the last time I did The Omnium to be honest. But then again, I might not have dug as deep the last time.

Oh, btw, I do feel proud that my fellow Malaysian was featured in video too, the Pocket Rocketman, Azizulhasni Awang
