Wahoo X September Challenge - September Sprints

Not considering my constant fails at the middle part of Burgberg, Cumbre del Sol was hardest. That final sprint … ugh. So I guess, that should in the spirit of our Nation of Sufferlandria be the most popular workout.

My guess is The Omnium! I love love love it.

Mind, I have only started this month’s challenge, with Burgberg today. My legs hate me. I’m so glad it was “only” half an hour. Half is easy, right?

Oof, did Omnium yesterday and should have bumped the intensity down I suppose… I cracked halfway through the kilometre. So it ended up being two 500 Metre efforts, after my pause to prevent any use of the suf bucket. I find the Omnium so motivating. AVDP is scheduled for the last day of the month. I will see how it compares now to Omnium.

Did the dreaded Burgberg OL ride yesterday for the 3rd time and knowing I was destined to screw up the low cadence sprints again lowered NM to 90% Amazingly I nailed 8 of the 9 sprints, only screwing up the second one.

Inspired me enough to try again soon at 95% of NM, maybe with some practice I can finally learn something and eventually get these right at 100% then then it’ll be time for another Full Monty :anxious_face_with_sweat:

With just over 1 day to go and based on number of rides, A Very Dark Place comes out on top as most popular ride for the September challenge.

Do we agree?

Which was your favorite workout of the September Sprints challenge?
  • A Very Dark Place
  • Bavaria: Burgberg
  • Costa Blanca: Cumbre del Sol

Good morning Rupert. I have to be honest, AVDP was my choice for my favorite workout of the September Challenge, mainly due to the return of Tibaut Pinot and his “placement” in the workout.

AVDP for me, too, because Sufferfest.

The Omnium for me. Always been one of my favs and was included in my first KOS at #9 as one of my biggest nemesis workouts. And of course was my TDF shenanigans last year.

Did Burgberg this morning which was a solid workout. But The Omnium is definitely head and shoulders above the rest at least for me.

Love the omnium. Everything a SUF workout should be. Great footage, that really makes you feel like you a part of the action and great tunes.

I was about to vote for the Omnium, because it’s such a good and engaging workout, but I was pleasantly surprised by the new AVDP, so another vote for Pinot.

I don’t do the new AVDP until tomorrow so can’t vote yet.

My first time with the new AVDP earlier today. Excellent job! At this point in the workout I felt like it was Sir Glen @Glen.Coutts and the wahoominati on board the helicopter always watching.

I have to agree with you, Sir. Now to get a re-remaster of Thin Air.

I was able to enjoy AVDP today. It was on my knighthood list, both first one in December and the second in April.

I hadn’t done it since then so when it offered to I update my video I had to politely decline. This morning suddenly my workout felt very personal.

Needless to say no matter how much I love The Omnium I had to vote for AVDP.

The music is perfect. The grainy Video is perfect. Liege and Roubaix. Black and white ending with choral music after emptying it all out in the final sprint. Sheer perfection.

Have a great day all.

I’m assuming that you have not done the new, remastered AVDP as of yet? While I agree that nothing will ever replace the Sufferfest version, the new version is actually quite good, especially with Tibaut Pinot in the last interval.

Not yet! I only have one device that can run systm and I just couldn’t download over the original today. I guess it was my farewell original AVDP ride

I do look forward to being inspired (more) by Pinot😊

Yeah, I get it. It was not easy for me to download the new Power Station.

This morning my training plan called for the OL Tasmania: Cygnet Coast Road but I wasn’t feeling it, especially with no music, and chose to sub in the new AVDP. Rode to the new video. It’s still the same destructive workout. I quickly arrived in the Cave of Massive Regret.

I came in with tired legs, and I definitely should have skipped the Igniter warm up the training plan called for. Felt like I had done an extra two intervals before I even started. Me and AVDP don’t get along even on good days, tho. I do better with intervals of 2 minutes long or less. AVDP has made my back tighten up too many times. I completed the first interval, but couldn’t get thru the second and had to tone it down a bit.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the Sufferfest feel of this new video and storyline. It was well done. Need more of the other remasters to include this much SUF-ness.

This was definitely me a lot of the time:

I thought the domestique duties bit was great. He was really motoring while riding those two bags of bottles and ice up to the front and the distributing them like candy! :lollipop: Freight train of salvation is right! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

This also made me smile:
