Greetings all! In early December, I did the Full Frontal prep, and then the FF. My profile showed I was an attacker, and MAP was my weakness. So, I did a low volume, 3:1 MAP block. A week or so after that block ended, I did a Half Monty and my MAP and FTP had each increased 15%. I’m finishing a 2:1 low volume Tempo block in a week or so, and am able to hit the cadence/power targets with the new numbers, and am definitely feeling even more improvement. My question is what might be a good choice next to keep up the training momentum. I don’t race, I’m not training for a specific ride, and there’s nothing beyond a metric for me before May. I’ve been debating whether to try another block of some kind, pick rides with MAP or FTP focus, try some of the “week with” rides, or something else. I’m currently on the trainer five days a week for an hour, give or take, on weekdays and a bit longer on the weekends. TIA for all thoughts and suggestions.
First congrats on the improvements to date. My 2 cents, if you have no specific goal, and nothing until May, I’d just pick the All Purpose plan at whatever volume suits you and would recommend adding in the Strength/Yoga sessions as well, just to round things out.
Also, ICYMI, starting on February 23rd, The Company is having their annual week long fundraiser to benefit the Davis Phinney Foundation to help people with Parkinson’s. Thanks, @SirGlen, for your suggestions. I already have yoga incorporated into the calendar, and have been flirting with joining the Tour. Much food for thought.
Fwiw, I’m running the All Purpose plan with strength and yoga and just substituting what’s in the plan with Tour shenanigans.
I’ve got an all purpose plan on the calendar and will probably do a FM sometime in early March. Thanks for your thoughts.
FF?
Just. Checking.
Yes, FF.
