Which trainer are you using?

Kinetic Road Machine, hooked to a Jade bike. I can’t yet justify the $$ for a smart trainer, when this thing still just works, and it’s only for the 4-5-6 months that are too cold to ride outside, right?

KICKR BIKE

Kurt kinetic road machine, my first road bike an Alan power coated in Emerald Green galaxy paint on a set of Spinergy wheels!

My setup - Tacx Blue Motion dumb trainer or a 30 yr old Minoura Mag Roller for easy days. Power data from a Stages left side power meter. Saving for a Kickr or Kickr Core.

I’m on a Tacx Flux. It’s coming up for 5 years old, gets used a lot. Still going strong though it might need a new cassette!!!

Road bike, TravelTrac Fluid Comp and the 'fest running on a “Macrohard SufferPro.”

And various kids toys strewn everywhere.

Kickr

Wahoo Kickr Bike, Wahoo Headwind fan, knock-off of the Wahoo desk, and an old-school set of Kreitler Challenger rollers (with the headwind fan and flywheel). Use AppleTV and a 50-inch TV for Zwift, and my iPadPro with AirPlay to the TV for Sufferfest. Also have a set of Bowflex dumbbells and a bench. 2021 Canyon Aeroad CFR is just resting on the rollers waiting for better weather!

Can’t believe how much space some of your caves offer! Wahoo Kickr has been superb, certainly improvement over the fluid mag Elite I used to have in those heady days of ‘Perceived effort’!

God i thought that was my garage for a sec! :joy nice.

I use the Tacx flux S too.
One thing I dislike about it is the temperature/resistance drift for the first 10-15 mins of the workout. I wish it had compensation for that.

I started with a Kurt Kinetic Road Machine, but had a bunch of troubles with it. Just replaced it with a Tacx Neo 2T and just love it!!

Weird, mine doesn’t do that. I have a Flux S sitting in the garage spare (was the Hubby’s) but I’ve never used it. My first Gen seems bullet proof.

I’ve had three. A Tacx flow (dumb old one), Tacx Bushido and a Tacx Neo. The upgrade from a basic to a middle grade one was big. The middle grade to upper was not. I like the variable flywheel more than live changes in slope. This is present in the Bushido and Neo. I prop the bike at an angle. This is fine for consistent gradients. It is a pity you currently have to choose between a variable flywheel and live slope changes.

Got a new Wahoo Kickr v5, replacing an old Performance bicycling fluid trainer. Erg mode is so nice, but I am just getting used to the level mode on the Kickr.

They say don’t buy upgrades, ride up grades…perhaps both??

Tacx vortex, about 3 years old.
But, it started to sound like a plane on take off, so I’ve just splashed out on a kickr core.
Almost as good as new bike day
