I’ve been a stonemason (NOT the same as a builder/bricklayer lol) and also did a fair bit in physical geography at uni later on… I can’t go anywhere without finding out what’s below my feet lol… Living in the Cairngorm Mountains some of the oldest too that share a past with North America !

Hope it’s ok to chip in and not mean to be too picky but that’s Colle del Nivolet in Italy in the Aosta Valley… one of the best roads I’ve ever cycled- Mike does a Col Collective of the climb. This just gives me an excuse to post this picture from our trip last year- big climb! On the same trip we were in the Southern Alps and also cycled Col de Cayolle and col de Allos - beautiful.

I stand corrected. Lovely film and beautiful Cols nevertheless. Cayolle/Allos feature on another session then. To get to the other side maybe?
