Z***t launches "new world"

Who’s going to tell them? I mean, they do realize Scotland is already a thing, right?

:joy:  :joy:

It actually looks like more of a mashup than real world Scotland. I was hoping there’d be half eaten chip butties, empty cans of IRN-BRU, and drunk students meandering into the street in front of you. Disappointing :frowning:

“Jocktopia”… Full of twee cliches from what I could be arsed watching on GPLama… Yet another made up fake-believe course, no thanks I’ll stick to my Magic Roads on RGT… Made loads of them for up here in the Cairngorms where I live and around Scotland… Zwift sucks so bad yet it’s captured so much of the market…

Dang it. I’ve been slowly and successfully trying to ween myself away from Zwift. But now they’ve gone and added Scotland? Sigh.

Likely a fair. criticism but what Zwift offer over RGT is a little more variety to look at

Don’t get me wrong, I LoVE Magic Roads conceptually it would just be nice to have them really develop the graphics to keep the eyes as entertained as the legs. Like FulGaz but not.

Tbt, I’ve got a 60 day free trial cuz I’ve been away so long. Just can’t justify the cost now with RGT being built into the SYSTM sub.

I find it ironic that RGT (Just Ride)is based on real roads yet “eRacing” is dominated by roads created in some silicone valley micro dosed stoners brain…:joy::joy::joy: The biggest issues I see with the WahooX platform mainly stem from the UI not being too thought out. I’ve put suggestions to them which are logical and make sense ( at least they are not suggesting major changes) but nothing changes. The UI should be developed and set by people on bikes halfway through a tough workout, not by someone sitting calmly at a desk for example??

“Silicone Valley.” Isn’t that down in SoCal somewhere around Burbank?

Def agree implementing some simple UI improvements would go a long way.

I did ZWIFT for some years before coming to SYSTM and then RGT. The main thing I’m looking for is distraction from the tedium, and for that, I like SYSTM vids. ZWIFT’s graphics may be cartoonish, but RGT’s simple/stark graphics are significantly less interesting.

Oh I don’t know, the Bay Area certainly has their fair share as well…

Burbank was built by a mouse.

So @Saddlesaur was referring to the prevalence of silicone jobs in the LA/Hollywood area, vice “Silicon Valley” in NoCal, as a play on @Bazzerro’s comment.

But maybe I overthought things…

I have no idea. It’s early so I may have completely missed the point and lost the plot. :man_shrugging:

Wouldn’t be the first time something obvious has gone completely over my head.

Yeah on a 100km RGT event I have to refrain from asking the others about the geology of the random massive rocky outcrops at the side of the road every now and then…!! I must admit I started on RGT and it took about a month before I even ventured over to SYSTM, some of the video backed workouts are brilliant, I filter them down to do a 3hr+ Z2 now instead of RGT- it’s like “film night” on a Saturday now… Would be good to get the HR/Power/Cadence off of the film entirely without removing it, even the smallest font doesn’t do it on my setup…BTW do any of you knowledgeble lot know where the “Open 30” film footage is from of that seemingly never ending descent? I’m assuming the Alps or Pyrenees but could be wrong??

Yes. Silicon vs silicone. Solid-state vs squishy-state.

Virtual state?

Ah, I missed that. Thanks for clarifying. Lol. I now see what you mean.

Hahaha, can so relate. I don’t understand the relatively “young” geology here in New Zealand, as I grew up with the much older and more worn down African kind. So I get really odd looks when I ask geology type questions.

Open 30. I think Alps - col de cayolle and or col de allos. Road them both IRL last June. Lovely but hard day out!
