It’s very flat so probably just doing the 100 mile plan this summer. I just checked the dates and it should be the end of September so I’ll want to start that plan in July. The trick is that I’ll be training in spring for RAGBRAI in July. That’s a lot of miles but not really training, more of a highly mobile party . . .

I think we have the same mix of responses. If there was an option “C, both”, I’d have circled that one a few times

Good luck with the weight loss. I’d like to drop a few as well - it’s nice that the systm helps (it has in the past) - as long as we execute the plans!

Will be my 6th time at the Fred this year. Would like to get to the start line fit enough that, under the right circumstances, I could beat my PB (6:09:33).

I think so, it could be more of a challenge if my training volume drops further, especially for the 25 mile.

@smuttiesmith that pb is even more awesome than ure pics Pete … totally tremendous! … be sure to wave as you pass by!

Thanks very much. You should be very proud of clearing all the climbs. I know plenty of very good cyclists who haven’t managed it. Hardknott with 150km in the legs is no joke regardless of speed.

I will probably be helping at sign on Saturday so will say hi then. Will have more breath in my lungs then anyway! :joy::joy:

I am a little late to the show by my primary goal is to consistantly get up early each morning. I may not complete a workout but I want to keep a solid early morning schdule. My next goals are to 1. follow my cycling training plan 2. add 2 sessions of yoga a week and 3. add 3 sessions of strength a week.

I am an analytical introvert so it will just be me and the data.

I LOVE a highly mobile party!

Bring it on @Rebecca! I like the mix of sleep, a plan, and activities. My only suggestion is to start the adding yoga and adding strength at different times. Adjust to one and then add the second!?!

@smuttiesmith Un-flipping-real!!!

I just started reading this, following your recommendation. Already feel that it’s going to be an eye opener. Thank you!

I think I’ve picked correctly then. My dad rode LBL about 35 years ago and hasn’t stopped talking about it. It meant a lot to him. Riding it myself will mean a lot to me, but also to him, and therefore even more for me. He’ll be watching it at La Redoute.

Thank you

My fastest times were all achieved using ‘Sufferfest’ as was.

PERSONALITY QUESTIONS: Part 3/4

Day 3 of questions to help you revise your original goal. For each of the following pair of characteristics, select the one A. or B. that accurately describes you. Even if you agree with both options, think about how you approach most life scenarios, and select one. Answer honestly with how you really are in situations where you are free to be yourself.

A. logical, thinking, questioning
B. empathetic, feeling, accommodating

A. candid, straight forward, frank
B. tactful, kind, encouraging

A. firm, tend to criticize, hold the line
B. gentle, tend to appreciate, conciliate

A. tough-minded
B. tender-hearted

A. matter of fact, issue-oriented
B. compassionate, people-oriented

IF the sum of A. answers is greater than B. then you approach goal setting in an objective, problem-first-people-second manner.

IF the sum of B. answers is greater than A. then you approach goal setting in a subjective, people-first-problem-second manner.

Answer these questions about your original goal. How will the process fit into the rest of my life? What is the positive outcome? Will the process or the outcome affect other people in my life?

@coach.jinger.g I completely agree. I have already added the yoga, I hope to add the strength in a few weeks once doing yoga becomes a habit.

I think my goals are reasonable given your full definition, though I find it difficult to find something that inspires me, particularly when it’s personal goals. I’ll think on…

This is interesting.

Almost all A’s and my goals are pretty objective.

But the question of how they fit in my life is almost a moot point: I’ll just keep training. Maybe this is showing that thye’re not goals, just things that I hope (and think) will happen.

Hmmmm…

Straight A’s, lol. No surprise at all. The process fits especially well with the rest of my life and will only have a positive influence on others. We all win (even if I don’t really care about how it impacts them :innocent: :joy: :joy:)
