2022 GOALS - with a Personality Quiz to Help

Day 4! Now this really cracks me up, because I’m a bit of both here. Although I have more “A” answers, definitely need to listen to my coach more and take/accept good advice, I am good with a fluid training process (B answers) and allowing my training days to be flexible and moved around even after they are on the calendar, and I really need to stop procrastinating - especially in the mornings when there is a swim on the schedule.
This was so much fun!
I want to know for the rest of you all; did this solidify you in knowing who you are and how you create and obtain goals, or was there a bit of a surprise here? Will you change how you set goals?
For me the first three really solidified that I know myself and the last questionnaire kicked me in the shin as I am literally both! I need to have my coach schedule and dole out the training, need to accept the advice he gives me (because I always question it - unless there are metrics, math and formulas I can research!!) and yet, super flexible to the calendar - go with the flow if it does not work for that day or week.

Thank you for all of this.

Cool! Thank YOU for being an active participant.

One goal is to complete 20 minutes of hip, hamstring and calf flexibility exercises 5 times per week. Another one is to ride SYSTM cycling sessions 2 days per week through the winter.

Happy weekend!

Awesome @olvxska ! It will be even more special after the cancellations!

@TrapMeSuf More flexibility could be a secondary GOAL!

YAY @KenR! My hope was exactly that… foster a bit of critical think about our goals and how we achieve them. Thank you for participating!

Finally clicked on this thread!
My goal is to survive (complete) Taunus Bikepacking event this summer in 5 days, which will wind up being 5 consecutive 200km days, on a loaded bikepacking rig. I am, however, freeing up 7 days in my schedule
Every one of my answers was a “B” except for two "A"s that somehow snuck in. They were good questions and should help me think about how I train for this.

@coach.jinger.g and a thank you from me too. Made me realize that making my big goal to get my cycling to the same standard as my swimming is right for me. Probably take more than a year to get there but that’s fine, I’ll just have to break it down.

No problem

Very late to this party! I very rarely do the social media thing in any way.

Goals:-

Complete 300miles at Revolve24 (Brands Hatch) - if it happens - in Sept.

Complete Royal British Legion 148km sportive in 4:45 - 5 hrs on June 19th

Complete Great Notts 200km sportive in 6.5hrs or less on July 10th.

Increase (Garmin) calculated V02 max to over 54, currently 51 by end on March.

And that’s about it!

Oof. Way to go Sir Graeme :checkered_flag:

@joob83 Neal and I are recording a The Knowledge podcast this week on goal setting. Would you allow us to use your goal/s as an example?

@coach.jinger.g , yes, you’re welcome to use them. Thanks for asking!

Questions 4/4: AABAB (also a bit in between on some of these). It definitely helps me to have a plan laid out and I like ticking off the boxes in the plan, but it doesn’t stress me too much if I miss a session or two, especially if it’s because I’ve gone XC skiing or something similar.

Thanks for prompting us to get the goals out there. It helps to have them written down and made public!

@coach.jinger.g Yes, of course. No problem at all.
