Actually I only installed RGT for the sake of that God-forbidden named Tour of 2023 and promptly uninstalled it thereafter since it’s not my preferred training platform

Following the Sufferlandrian timekeeping standards, and hoping my understanding of time zones is correct, and completely ignoring daylight saving time clock changes, we have the following windows to complete Kitchen Sink and earn our imaginary badge and unmeasurable glory:

Anyone care to check this? My 4DP says my strength is in time trials, not time zones.

Malaysia/Singapore would be in GMT+8.
But what time and at which time zone would the celebrations start?

Anyway I am planning to celebrate this glorious day on 29/Oct/2023

Thank you for reminding us of the Sufferlandrian day schedule. I had been wondering how I would fit it in, and that really helps me out. :+1:

Still working on my schedule for that day. Stay tuned. All will be revealed :fearful: :fearful: :fearful:

I just rode Cobbler as a bit of a rehearsal for next week. If you enjoy every second of a workout, does it still count as suffering?

@TrapMeSuf Sounds like you need to do Full Frontal!

Epic suffering will then be endured next week doing Kitchen Sink :fire:

I did 2hr 40m of Endurance 3 this morning. But I did not follow zone 2. So that was a pretty close approximation, just not with sprint efforts. :grimacing::speak_no_evil:

And there in lies the rub. You will need to do the sprints!!

Yep. I did some endurance climbs and some power climbs and some MAP efforts and a couple short AC efforts, but nothing resembling NM whatsoever. So, yeah. KS will be a different animal.

So go ahead and throw some ideas at me for a 3 hour session that includes Defender. Maybe I’ll do your suggestions maybe I won’t. But they’ll be fun to read in any case. And go…

What’s with you and Defender?

There are a few workouts in the SUF library that I find incredibly distasteful and they’re invariably ones that require loooong sustained efforts. I’ve been a “sprinter” nearly forever, though very recently reclassed as an “attacker”. For me, Defender ranks at or near the top of the list as most hated, most likely to have to dial down (repeatedly) or most likely to avoid altogether.

10 minutes feels like forever when riding at that intensity and is such a HUGE mental challenge for me to get through an effort like that once, let alone 4 GvA foresaken times. 4 GvA dang times!! Why?!?! Why?!?!?!

Now Attacker, I can do that cuz, while there’s an additional interval with 5 sustained efforts instead of 4, they’re only 6 minutes long and 6 minutes ummmm, isn’t 10 minutes so…:man_shrugging:t3:

Also, while I know the intensity has been dialed down from its initial release, when Defender came out, even Rohan Denis couldn’t complete it without dialing it down and he’s pretty okay at long sustained efforts compared to me

Do you know how much Defender has been dialed down by?

No, but I know it was one of a bunch that got the Sir Neal post-production treatment based on their data for completion and their sport science goals for the workout.

Like any adjusted workouts though, if people wanna knock themselves out (read: punch themselves repeatedly in the face) then they can just do it in level mode and beat the “targets” senseless :smiling_imp:

I’m with you Sir Glen. Not a fan of sustained efforts, also as a sprinter. For me 10 minutes is ok, but not ideal. It’s when they get to 15 or 20 minutes that I find most ‘distasteful’.

Yep yep. 10 minutes (or longer, eg HHNF) pushes my mental buttons. And stoooopid Defender does it 4 times :face_vomiting:

Hence why I’m gonna do something with Defender (or donuts) on SUF Day
