2024 National Sufferlandrian Day (October 27]

Holy hell. AVDP complete at 80% and I’m done. In every sense. Going for a lie down on my bed of nails.

This is almost as fun (to watch) as the Tours of old. Maybe we need a no completed screenshot rule with the penalty being this GIF in place of the badge:

no-bad

maybe do it again today then?

So… It’s a lovely day where I am today and I couldn’t face consigning myself to 3 videos-worth of indoor suffering. I did however do a ride featuring my biggest local climb (c.9km with nearly 400m of elevation gain - the climb, not the entire ride!), so there was a good half hour of constant suffering had.

Gotta take every light wind + no rain opportunity that comes my way at this time of year!

Nice! Where’s that?

Plymouth/Dartmoor. The climb, specifically, is “Rundlestone” and links the towns of Tavistock and Princetown (where Dartmoor prison is).

Away tomorrow so started Kitchen Sink, partly because Tradition, partly as it’s not marked as having been completed anymore for some reason (did it before).

Dreadful ANT+ drop-outs, so reached down to move the mini-PC nearer the sensors and … bosh, yanked the power cord out :joy:

When it came back on, the power control and cadence were all over the shop on ANT+ and BTLE, re-tried starting several times, eventually got it working and finished… here’s hoping this mish-mash still counts ! Sir @Rupert ?

Had forgotten how much it starts to sting at the end
Happy National Sufferlandrian Day everyone :beers:

Woo hoo! Another National Sufferlandrian Day is done thanks to the Kitchen Sink :cold_sweat:

SYSTM crashed with 35 mins left to go, so no badge yet. If it doesn’t update by Monday will ask the Minions for help.

Joint Suffering for the Nation is such a wonderful way to start the day.

Chapeau to all who have finished and best of luck to everyone yet to start.

For some reason, I find it quite interesting to see the wide variance in distance and calories for the same rides…

Kitchen sink completed earlier, no SufDay 24 badge though :disappointed_relieved:.

I was pretty ok until the violator efforts, legs were in all sorts of trouble after :joy:

I really like this! I should do one for myself too for the both times I subjected myself to such glorious suffering.

Oh it was about the same for me doing 9H at 80% after the 4th interval yesterday.

Decided to make the most of the National Sufferlandrian Weekend and followed up yesterday’s Kitchen Sink with The Cobbler twice this morning.

Not one of my brightest ideas :face_with_spiral_eyes:

Still no badge yet though….

Celebrated our National Day at the flogging station with Kitchen Sink; all going so well until Violator…

I think I enjoyed it. But I’m not yet sure…

1 of 3 done. regretting starting with revolver. at least the shovel has more rest intervals!

Being shot vs beaten with a shovel. Hmm tough choice.

Holy mother of GVA. half way through The Shovel, and somehow I am remembering Revolver much more fondly. Could be it’s 16 intervals versus the 24 remaining in this ride?

Whose idea was this anyway @Cheryl.Vasan !?!
