I have a 12-week programme loaded into my training calendar, based on 3 or 4 days a week availability. Due to illness and other interruptions, I have missed a few workouts. To try and get back on track, I have moved and rescheduled some workouts into my rest days and am sometimes doing two workouts a day; I have run out of free space/time.
Not ideal. What is the best method to get back on track ?
IMO, if it’s just a day here or there, then don’t do anything. Just pick up again where you left off.
If you miss 4 days in a row or more, then I would step back a bit and consider whether you need a couple of rides just to get back into the swing of things. The more time off, the more rides you need to build back up.
if you miss 2 weeks or more, I would just start the plan over .
I generally would NOT recommend doubling up on workouts to make up for lost time. The rapid accumulation of fatigue can be too much to overcome.

So, just miss (remove) them and forget; don’t try to catch up?
Do not try to catch up if it’s just a few workouts. The plans are designed to generate an appropriate level of acute and cumulative fatigue. Doing extra to “catch up” upsets that delicate balance.

@John_Charnock Agree with everything that @Steve_Q says. The plans are designed for something less than 100% compliance so don’t stress over missing a few days. Listen to your body and throw in an easy session like recharger if needed.
