šŸš€šŸš€šŸš€ Announcing: SYSTM, the new home of The Sufferfest šŸš€šŸš€šŸš€

Whatā€™s been lost exactly? All the sufferfest videos are still there.

I actually think this would have been quite cleverā€¦ in-keeping with Wahoo branding with a nod/in-joke to the past

Letā€™s pretend I am what used to be the intro to your videos: you abandoned me :sob:

I remember everytime would start a vid, I would already shiver just hearing the first notes of that theme song (The Sufferfest's 'The Best Thing in the World:' World Premiere at David Lloyd Leisure, Raynes Park, UK on Vimeo). It was dark, blurry, volcanic yet extremely inspirational and profound. Now what do we have? Some sweaty people youā€™d like us to identify to? mmmmm not happeningā€¦ (Donā€™t even start me on the new ā€œthemeā€ songā€¦)

I think evolution is great and technically the app looks better (I am sure the code behind is also much more upgradable and maintainableā€¦) but it seems some Sufferlandrians sold their souls to Couchlandrians or Moneylaundrians :(.

I have to join @Tim_Warke on this, you diluted the very essence of what made you stand out.

Struggling to update the windows app. Just sat there with the cranks turning / loading.

Edit - I guess Iā€™ll just uninstall it and see what happens with a fresh install.

Iā€™ve loved my Sufferfest journey. Every single session.
I know Iā€™ll love the journey to comeā€¦
All the old suffering is there, some brand new suffering to come andā€¦
New shinny stuff too.
Itā€™s a win win as far as Iā€™m concerned.

I JUST WANT TO KNOW ONE THING: Will we get elevation gain on the Pro Rides and On Location???

No, not currently and I donā€™t believe there are plans to add this either.
Also, I think this (not adding it) is a good thing.

I like where the App is going and hope that we are soon able to analyze our general fitness including all sports in one place.
I donĀ“t like that Sufferfest is now in the background and I believe soon it will be completely gone and the SUF videos will be called something like Wahoo Vdosā€¦
I donĀ“t like the new name at all, what does it even suppose to mean/represent?
But the biggest disappointment is why the hell is Abi not on the cover of the Yoga section in the Library???

100% agree with this

Totally agree. I will stay with last Sufferfest app while it keeps working. This SYSTM corporate crap is annoying, not adding anything valuable that wasnā€™t in the Sufferfest app. Calendar still sucks big time. Whateverā€¦ Have to think how to transit back to TrainingPeaks, still have my old Sufferfest training plans in the library. Moneylandrians, right. It was fun while it lasted. Still have my old Sufferfest videos from before they went into subscription model.

Is the server kicking me out a issue with the new app , or are you a bit over subscribed today.

I like the new layout, maybe a little bland on the logo, but if it means more user (if your server can cope) hopefully more fabulous content.

Iā€™m ambivalent on this. I knew this day was coming, but thought it wouldnā€™t be so soon. It seems like the exception rather than the rule that the acquired company/service gets to keep its branding.

Iā€™m definitely interested in trying some of the new features such as the new strength training and ProRides. But Swimming & Running?! Now youā€™re just being silly!

It would also be nice to perhaps have a Sufferfest sub-forum that would retain some of the branding that attracted us to this training philosophy in the first place.

All of my indoor training hardware is Wahoo, so clearly, Iā€™m a fan. I was just hoping that we Suffrlndrns wouldnā€™t be assml8td so qckly. Ah sht! itā€™s happning alrdyā€¦

Agree with Bike Girl and Tim.
The name change is awful, typical Wahoo. Unfortunately sold out to $$ as is the modern trend sadly. My subscription runs to beginning of November so will stay until then.

 Everything was fine until you Android users starting asking for an app!

JUST KIDDING!!

Despite all the feedback from the nation and promises from the CSO, THE CALENDAR IS STILL SO BAD and it is such a disappointment. Weā€™re time-crunched athletes!

  1. Many of us NEED drag and drop to organize my training sessions around a busy life to make it all work
  2. Many of us NEED to sync our training calendar to our external calendar apps (iOS, Google, Outlook, etc.) to make it all work

Visually, Iā€™m ok with the re-branding and it was always inevitable when Wahoo acquired The Sufferfest, despite the double-speak.

Congratulations to the whole team for the launch of the new app(s)! I love it! I am certainly looking forward to my first 4dp on Sunday riding uphill outside with 4dp running on my Android phone

Will we be able to integrate this new platform in the Zwift world?

So, confessions first of all. I havenā€™t even looked at the new app. Iā€™m on outdoor mode until the end of the week, and will re-subscribe then. Second, I only became a Sufferlandrian last September. I found the Z place did nothing for me and tried Sufferfest. And loved it. Iā€™m not hung up on the brand, it was just the platform and the ease of building a plan. Which worked. I have set PR after PR this summer season. I also enjoyed the humour, but it wasnā€™t the key for me. It was the constant evidence of improvement. I have no desire to be a Knight, but I respect those who do. And I get those who bought into the magnificent nation too.

BUT, I hate SYSTM as a name. I also hate ELEMNT, KICKR and all the other missing letter names. It just grates. If the platform and programmes work, Iā€™ll probably stick with it, but I will kind of miss the Suf thing. And it never put me off even though I wasnā€™t especially looking to suffer. Just get better.

TLDR? There must have been a better middle ground probably somewhere.

Just did Joyride eventually. Couldnā€™t get the video to load but other than that the workout was exactly the same as it was before on PC anyway albeit in complete silence.

I like that the calendar is on the homepage.

I like that Android now has an app.

I donā€™t understand how what amounts to a paint job has taken this long but I think computers work a bit like the Wizard of Oz so probably ignore that remark.

The branding and the name is meh and strongly suggests the result of a Survey Monkey questionnaire where you strongly agree or disagree with statements like ā€œSystm is a strong and confident brand with a playful sideā€

Whike Sufferfest videos are still there now, itā€™s been sidelined and Iā€™d guess it will will gradually fade to be replaced with more generic Systm fodder.

Iā€™ll use it for now as Iā€™ve paid for an annual subscription but I chose SF over Trainer Road because SF was a bit different and now its justā€¦ not and honestly Trainer Road works better so Iā€™m a little bit disappointed.

Well done Dave and the team. Very well done. Have loved watching the evolution.

Also, when Sam and I met you guys at the Tour in Aigle / Saint-Maurice a couple years back, it was a amazing experience and something we still talk about. A great boys trip. :+1::+1:

All the best and we canā€™t wait to use SYSTMā€¦

What a sad and bland corporate whitewash of a great and inspiring culture. Systm - oh how on corporate BS trend to drop vowels. Remember Abrdn, or whatever it was. David, Thanks for the memories, and I only hope your retirement fund is now well padded. Over and out.

Any plan for a plan builder where you can select a range of time per week you would have to train, as well as periodizing the plan over a year with A and B races accounted for? For example an option for traditional base, build, peak and race periods?
