No it’s not ready yet. Android is top priority of the new platforms (for us) at the moment. Apple TV is still on the list though!

Aw, man! Voting for Apple TV app all the way!

Preferably so you can split screen two rider accounts at once. Right now we have to choose who gets to mirror and who gets to watch their stats from a teeny tiny iphone screen.

We really, really want that Apple TV app. We planned on releasing it much earlier but ended up delaying it — as Sir Cody mentions — because we are working on something quite big with our entire platform. I know it’s frustrating to wait but it will he worth it.

In case you have an iOS or Mac device, you can cast your screen to your apple tv through airplay. It works seamlessly for me. Given the limitations of apple tv user interface and its remote, I guess it’s a real challenge for them to design the right app for apple tv and even if they develop the app, I might still end up casting from my macbook for easier control unless they nail the UI design.
tldr; cast the app if you can because trackpad and keyboard is much better and easier to use than apple tv remote.

To quote the developers from ID Software, back in the day, as folks clamored for the release of Doom 2, I imagine we’ll get/see the finished, highly-anticipated Apple TV product “when it’s done.”

Can’t stand the wait? Suffer. It’s literally why we’re here.

(Still, seriously, put me in line for Beta.)

Just in case here is a link to our help article on external displays and screen mirroring.

Yes this is a great workaround. We have been using for awhile BUT we have two riders in the house and would luv an app that can split our numbers below the video.

I read a lot of people are using their iPads for Suff, but because of the screen ratio, it’s annoying to mirror it (think 4:3 on 16:9 screen).

I know that can be the case but in my experience rotating my device usually corrects that.

It was announced that Apple TV app would be released 1st qtr 2020 by @David.McQuillen.KoS in an interview. I signed up for an annual subscription on the basis of that. We are now in qtr 3. I feel duped. Can you advice what is the prospective timeframe for the apple TV app?

As a temporary workaround, I’m having great success with screen mirroring from my iPhone to the apple TV. I’m only doing that for the Strength and Yoga currently though. I haven’t tested it with trainer workouts.

I am also eager for an AppleTV app for Sufferfest. The AppleTV app for zwift is basically the only thing keeping me on zwift at this point…:just pure ease of use. For sufferfest I’d either have to work from my iPhone or laptop screen or go buy a iPad. I don’t want to mess with trying to airplay it and risk the frustration of it freezing or cutting out. I think sufferfest is missing an opportunity by not having an appletv app.

Being a Zwift user on the Apple TV I can say the overall experience is less than stellar. For starters it only supports 3 BT connection, and one is taken by the remote controller, so that leaves 2. If you have Power Meter, Smart trainer, HR or Cadence you’re out of luck.

Second, the interaction va Apple Remote is less than ideal, especially with sweaty hands. There is no cursor, so everything needs to go thru going from one button to the next.

Last I had issues with my (older) LCD TV, could not find a resolution that would not crop some of the screen.

iPad mounted on the handlebar (using the Tacx mount, super nice) and AirPlay on Apple TV works, way better. Honestly I feel the Minions could focus on improving many other features rather than adding one more questionable platform.

And if you have an Apple TV, most likely you already have some other devices from the Apple ecosystem and can just AirPlay.

BT on Apple TV is usually a non-issue. Now a days most smart trainers have power and cadence built-in and the trainer uses only one BT channel even to communicate many metrics (control, power, cadence, etc). Then one channel for HRM and you are good to do. If for some reason you need more BT there are more exotic solutions, but first check if your trainer have power and cadence and if does you are all set for Apple TV use.
It is true the Apple Remote is not great but in my experience once a workout is started I barely touch it.
