Last time I checked @Coach.Mac.C still works for SYSTM.
@Martin Yes - they have a few coaches - Coach Pav and Coach Rae. They appear in some of the videos on the site providing details on how to make changes to plans, availability, etc.
I haven’t quite figured out whether the coaching philosophy for cycling is polarized or pyramid or something else.
Would be good if https://app.athletica.ai/ did the same using it a while now and find it good. Often use SYSTM sessions is they are close to the prescribed workout
Keep us posted on how this goes
@PeterEire Agreed - I have been using JOIN which is similar. What is great about these algorithm apps is that you can do what you want and then let it figure out next steps in your specific plan and hopefully keep you from both under and over training.
There’s a review of Athletica.ai here by Dr. Will O’Connor:
good review and very on point, I’ve been with them since the start of January and yeah they were a bit like a start up and they have a bit of a way to go to be a complete solution, it’s very good if you like the data and sport science side of things. The founders are very active on their forum and share great learning resources.
I looked at it, and signed up, and did not find it to be particularly useful.
I find Xert, which is far from perfect, more useful.
what is the best way to get an athletica ai workout on a bolt/roam?
export erg file, convert to fit and open in companion app?
I have recently tried both Pillar and Join on their free trial options and I have dropped them both. Pillars data was very sporadic and sometimes incomplete, even on the suggested workouts and despite two calls to the coach these were not corrected and still weren’t just before I finished the trial period. Also if you did more than one workout on the same day the data would often be applied to the wrong workout… confusing! I also discovered that ad hoc rides were not counted in the calendar therefore the plan did not adapt to those workouts., this is appently correct according to pillar!! My last week I did 10 hours of rides but the app only counted half of that and missed completely two planned rides that were on the calendar. I was told I was fresh but who knows as I did twice the work that was showing. As for Join, this app is a lot simpler but my main gripe is that it is supposed to be a “polarised” training app but it seems to jumble up most of the zones into one workout instead of contentrating on the area you are working on. Often you can get most of the zones in one workout, not just warm up and down but mixed up throughout the workouts. As most would agree, working on one spcific area per workout is the way to go. Zwift does similar on some of theirs but at least you can work around that and do the ones you want or as I do, create my own or download all of your favourite Systm workouts into Zwift especially the no vids (best of both worlds) I was going to dump my Systm subscription at the end of the year, keeping Zwift(which I grown to like surprisingly) and pay for AI coaching but until all the glitches , particularly with the Pillar app , are sorted I will continue with Systm and create my own plans.
