I did the Bavaria: Fischen workout this morning. This is a short but effective cadence workout. If you need/want a short workout to work on your high cadence drills/skills this is the workout for you.
This is basically the Cadence Builds and Holds No-Vid with a brilliantly done Sir Mike Cotty video.
So it’s not #NEW? It’s just the No-Vid but with a video now?
It’s new in that it provides better pacing and a realistic view of the power outputs of the Cadence Builds.
Anyone know how the cadence targets are set in Bavaria: Fischen? Is it based on 4DP?
For me, the top two cadences in the builds are faster than I have ever gone (I haven’t been able to reach these, even with warmup) and the third from top cadence is all-out. We’re talking hardly breathing, full focus, just-hang-on. The cadence holds are at that third-from-top cadence. The RPE for the holds says 6.5/10 but for me it’s definitely 10/10.
Cadence is really personal, so you can ignore the guidance and just do it your own way. Just make sure you hit your max at the end of the build, and for holds do what you can hold without bouncing in the saddle.
