First, I want to say that I already tried installing again the app and resetting the bolt with no success. I’m on an iPhone using the last version of the app (see screenshot).
First problem, a lot of Times, my bolt doesn’t really Connect to the app, it says « connected » but with data that is not consistent with the actual settings on the bolt : backlight set to auto on the bolt and duration on the app, battery level at 50% on the app and 94% on the bolt, it’s like it’s not really connected and I can’t change the settings. When I go to the information the serial number of the bolt is not shown either.
after restarting different times the bolt and getting it to Connect correctly to the app, if I try to change the data Fields. As you can see on the video below, I try to move up the last field temperature and it moves up the field average speed above instead, it does that since the beggining and never worked properly.
here is a link of a video showing the issue: IMG_3309
Do you have any hints on What could cause those bugs ?
I was wondering if one of the apps is caching, or otherwise holding on info from a previous device. Had that before (not Wahoo)
If you haven’t already, maybe worth actively removing (or ‘forgetting’) all of Bolt devices from the Companion and Wahoo apps (and checking any other Wahoo software), then re-adding the V3
@Aethlios I had something similar where the same device was connected twice and am wondering if you might have something similar. Just want to confirm:
You have checked for updates on the device in the device settings menu - both firmware and Element software.
You are running the most recent version of Wahoo App..
You noted that you factory reset - when you did that did you confirm that the phone was unpaired on the device?
Seems like you went into the Bluetooth menu and deleted the Bolt 3 - did you check that it wasn’t paired twice?
Also just to get a clean install, maybe make sure that the Bolt v2 isn’t actually connected to the Wahoo App and causing issues. It shouldn’t and I haven’t seen that but you can check if that device appears twice in the Phone’s Bluetooth menu.
Without looking at it this is all I have to suggest right now. Otherwise contact support and they should be able to help you or if the unit is defective then they can address it.
Thank you for taking the Time to help. To answer your suggestions:
The Bolt is on the last firmware too, compared it to the wahoo firmware page after checking on the unit itself.
I first unpaired the phone from the app and then hit factory reset on the bolt.
I checked the Bluetooth menu and there was only one bolt befote deleting it. After that nothing in that menu on the iPhone.
The Bolt V2 isn’t connected since I sold it and deleted it from the phone before receiving the V3.
I really don’t know What can cause that, and Even if wahoo sends me another unit, I’m not an expert but I can’t see how all this could be a hardware issue, the unit in itself works…
That is incredibly frustrating. If a hard reset didn’t clear the glitch, I’m inclined to agree with you that it’s a software bug in the current firmware rather than a hardware defect. Hopefully support can roll you back to a previous version.
