🎺🎺🌋 I’m baaaaaack (with a new stoooopid challenge) 🌋 🎺🎺

First, thanks to @Heretic for funding my 24 hours (and 40 bonus minutes) of silence in the forums! I really REALLY enjoyed that. Maybe even, but probably not, More Than You!!!

Second, thanks to EVERYONE else who helped me reach my 2nd fundraising challenge which was to Triple my forum output once the self-imposed silence ended. Stay tuned for more details on that… :smiling_imp:

Third, thanks to anyone and everyone who helps me to achieve my 3rd fundraising challenge which is to reach a Mt. Sufferlandrian, but not totally unrealistic, total of $1500. Fundraising link here

What stoooopid thing would I do for that amount? Well, since you asked, maybe you’ve heard about something called Everesting? This is basically climbing a single hill, anywhere in the world, and doing repeats of that climb until you’ve reached a total elevation gain of 8848 metres. This can also be done virtually. Either way, it’s hard. Really hard. Hells 500, the Keepers of the Cloud, describe it like this:

“FIENDISHLY SIMPLE, YET BRUTALLY HARD.
EVERESTING IS THE MOST DIFFICULT
CLIMBING CHALLENGE IN THE WORLD.”

But a single virtual Everesting, while hard as SUF, isn’t quite as hard as a DOUBLE VIRTUAL EVERESTING now is it?! That’s right, I will commit to a virtual DOUBLE Everesting if my fundraising total exceeds $1500 by the close of the final stage of the Whateveryouwannacallit Tour 2024.

IF I reach this fundraising goal, I will train like only a Sufferlandrian can and get that Double virtual Everesting done by the end of April 2024. That’s just shy of 2 months of training. And what do I get? Well, I get a badge :stuck_out_tongue:

But even better, I get to climb HIGHER than Mt. Sufferlandria:

From the archives:

MT. SUFFERLANDRIA®
It rises some 30,000ft above Lactic Acid Sea level, the glow of its volcanic crater visible for thousands of miles.
The most imposing peak in the range of rocky fangs that form the Sufferlandrian Alps.

I want to donate to this stoopidity, but I’m lazy and didn’t see your fundraising link in this thread. Please post it again, if you’re willing!

Annnnddd… suddenly, riding The Omnium every day for a month doesn’t seem quite so crazy.

This is an insanely stupoooopid challenge!

I have an everesting on my list of goals for the next two years. But not a double everesting. Holy mother of GvA! And by the end of April?!

You are truly a Sufferlandrian at heart. :muscle: :goat:

Sorry I missed your re-entry, I was finishing my last ride.

As you probably noticed, in true Sufferlandrian fashion, your trial took place without the presence of you or your legal representation.

I’d have expected nothing less . Thanks for kickstarting everything! Seriously

Thank you @Glen.Coutts for this funny episode. However, I fear that I‘ve not seen the complete flood yet
I helped to pass the next landmark. I hope I haven’t overlooked related consequences

Call it Tour brain and lack of sleep but I thought you were lamenting that The Silent Times had ended :joy:

Nah. Loved the shenanigans, and you all were really generous with your donations (and meted out suffering) this year, but Sufferlandria is a bleaker place without you in it.

But that’s only almost 17.7k height gain…wait there’s a badge for it from the Crew? Dammit…this is more tempting than those donuts

I know right! If you really wanted to be tempted you could join the VERY elite folks who’ve done a triple (several of them irl too!!). That’s only 26.5k elevation gain mind you. You can always go higher, the sky is NOT the limit!
