Ooh, count me in - It’s my first time too. Please don’t be gentle; may the suffering be glorious!
That’s super helpful, Sir @Glen.Coutts! I had to actually add the plan to my schedule (rather than just see the preview) to see the differences.
To illustrate, here is AVDP for both Get Me Through It and Focused options:
It says: “Coach-modified workout - targets will be adjusted accordingly”. Here, the MAP percentages differ.
Again, thanks!
Always happy to help others suffer. I agree it would have been nice to see the adjustments in the preview but I guess the minions are busy getting the race village (ie flogging stations) ready for all the fresh meat, ummm, new riders.
However you ride the tour, @thomaslee it’s a great time (except when it’s not).
You could self-report to Flogging Station #7. Those minions have been real busy lately.
Sir @Glen.Coutts the adding both plans is brilliant. I am going to put it that way in my calendar. Thank you
Ahh, Sir @Jacob_Cochenour, you realize you’ll have to ride them both ways though right? Also, perhaps at 100% intensity for comparison as well. For SCIENCE!
Sir @Glen.Coutts after this weekend I shall laugh in the face of danger. Lol.
First time at the ToS for me too - we’ll suffer together!
Just finished primers. All set for stage 1 tomorrow.
Just finished stage 1. Proud that I made it through. The last lap was truly painful New chapter for my book - Hot Foot and the Seat of Death: How the Last Lap Nearly Killed Me.
Congrats! Good job toughing it through the foot and saddle pain.
What time zone are you in? Is it Saturday or Sunday? I’m in US Eastern and it’s Saturday. I’ll do stage one on Sunday.
I’m in the US in Eastern Zone as well, but I wanted to get a jump on the stage in case I need a bit more recovery after this stage.
Good luck, save some energy for that last lap!
Did the Giro! Awesome ride. Loved that Klara pulled me back after the drop. I did most of it as a slightly upwardly modified Focus ride except the last 10 minutes at 100%. The 2:10 flew by.
Did you do The Way Out today or are you waiting for tomorrow?
I am doing it today, in just a few hours. The quad feels good enough to give it a go at 100%. Plus this is one of my favorite rides.
I like The Way Out too. Up for tomorrow.
Lots of good news there. Doing the Get Me Through It version and the recoveries were at 100%. Weird to drop when you do the first Col. Keep us informed on the Quad…
With the assistance of a compression sleeve. Stage 2 is in the books at 100%!. The legs an more important, the quads. feel pretty good.
I will give a go tomorrow again at 100%. Feeling good about my chances of doing that. I am a bit concerned about the Model. I’ll cross that bridge when get there.
Yay for compression sleeves! Well done.
Stage 2 complete. I might try stage 3 later today so I can save tomorrow for a ride outside. The weather is going to be stunning before turning to a week of rain when TOS ends.
Stage 3 in the books at 100%. Looking at the rest of the tour, tomorrow is the wildcard. It looks like it could be tough. That’s why I finished The Downward Spiral this morning.
I do plan on doing The Model tomorrow, but now I have the luxury of pushing it to later in the afternoon or even the evening if I feel I need a few extra hours rest before tackling it.
If I can make it through that, I can get to Stage 7 at 100%. Please note the words ‘get TO’. Getting through will be the challenge!
