Knight Rides are Back!

  1. See recent news about TP acquiring IV.
  2. It might be possible to join a ride longer than 25 km as a group ride. I don’t know if Zwift sealed over that hole or if they are ever going to do so.

I think they plugged that hole.

I remember either Sir @Glen.Coutts or another rider trying that last winter during a Knight Ride. They disappeared right at the 25km mark.

Yep. I’m a Founding Club member. I’m waiting to see what happens. The brightness of IV’s future with TP remains to be seen.

Not me.

Edit: at least not that I recall :older_man:t2:

Once I manage to get back on my bike - and awake early enough on a Saturday morning - I’ll test it out.

What I see is the same thing that was supposed to happen with RGT, but the integration of two disparit platforms proved impossible or more costly than Wahoo was willing to spend. With no competition within the product line, IV is going to get fresh resources and George might be able to bring to light ideas he’s working on. It’s also going to be interesting to see what TP does. I don’t expect the API to be closed to competitors, but they may limit data points passed into their world.

RGT was built on a very expensive platform that was difficult to integrate and costly to scale up. George seems to have anticipated that with IV so that it is scalable and easily integrated. So fingers crossed that works in practice not just in theory.

WHOOPS!

I posted this Saturday’s (Nov 2nd) Knight Ride to Zwift, but forgot to drop a link here!

This week - compliments of @Blackwater - we’ll be testing out the new Itza Party route in Watopia.

The truth of it as a stand alone statement is much funnier than the actuality.

Getting carpets cleaned and it’s a direct line from the space on the carpeted floor to the bathroom, where it will remain for the day.

That, and I’m :poop: at training at the best of times

Now, in saying this, there is a GFCI plug in the bathroom so technically, I could join the ride and possibly even continue turning the cranks during a nature break if needed

Haha… too much info in the last para.

Plus the fan airflow would make a fair mess😜

@Glen.Coutts Do it for the story!

It would “eliminate” my usual excuses about not being able to make a ride due to issues with, erm…“regularity” so…

Another good ride this morning on the new Itza Party climb/route - better turnout every week!

(Unfortunately the only good screen cap I got for the group photo featured yours truly prominently…)

:grimacing:

Join us next week for a(nother) fun trip up the Alpe on the Road to Sky segment…because @Blackwater.

Thanks to all for coming out - and for pulling me up the last hill when my intervals were done!

My Zwift Companion app kept sharing the comments during your ride this morning. I so enjoyed knowing you all were suffering together as I relaxed on my couch and enjoyed eating the leftover Halloween candy for breakfast. :two_hearts::smiling_face_with_three_hearts: even better than donuts! :doughnut:

And yet still prominently ME.
