When he finally popped in, Sir Alan @montgoma heroically TT’d his way back to us for 30 minutes. We were all suitably impressed!
Hi fellow Knights,
I was late to the start but determined to catch the group. Fun! I was unprepared and not clued into how to chat in ride. But, no worries until my mac that I thought was charging wasn’t and drained battery. After that, I fiddled about in vain. Still, got to ride with a great bunch and the 12.7 miles were fun. Please set up weekly or more KoS rides😊 I can be on time LOL.
Sad that I had to bail due to Saddle Sore. It started about the middle of the week and is still hanging around. Hopefully I’ll be able to ride Saturday.
That’s ok, sir. Knight rides have a storied history of late & last minute arrivals. All are welcome!
Welp, here we go again. You know it, you love it (or not). This week’s Knight Ride will be a(nother) run up Watopia’s Road to Sky [link] and the Alpe d’ Huez! Climbers will have their say.
Sir Ruben @Medina81, we could use a little help this week!
Standard rules: we’re a banded ride, so long as you’re pedaling you’re with the pack - work hard or not as you like (or as your training calendar requires ). You don’t have to be a Knight to ride - all citizens and true Sufferlandrians at heart are welcome!
Sooner or later I’m going to get the five times up the Alpe badge.
You’ll get there, Sir. 2 more times and I’ll be celebrating my 40th
Xoom Xoom!
Bet you have the special wheels too. I’m not concerned about them as I can purchase better wheels now. I do want to work on higher intensity endurance rides
I never got those wheels until my 28th time up, lol. I’m also not fussed about wheels and frames and such. They mean nothing to me for the type of rider I am or the type of riding I do.
Here’s what I wrote you guys on the club’s Zwift Companion Chat. I did sign up for Saturday morning. Suffering is better together.
#crewgotcrew woot woot!
That would be citizen @Blackwater, Sir. Welcome (back) aboard!
Man, Sufferlandrians indeed! Run a Knight Ride up the Alpe and look at everyone show up! Though I think Squire @Blackwater might’ve been questioning the route choice by the end.
[setting out in the middle of the night, apparently.]
[pretty much the view all day when Sir Ruben @Medina81 is setting the pace, though D.Spychalski’s hideous socks were a good distraction!]
Sir Alan @montgoma again gave it a big effort to make up for lost time, solo TT’ing up the mountain behind us. Sorry for the continuing tech issues - and thanks to Sir @Glen.Coutts for your ongoing tech/emotional support!
See you next week, folks!
So, who finished first and gets to set the route next week? Inquiring Knights want to know. And anyone have a cure for a long-term saddle sore that doesn’t want to go away?
From the pics (and from my experience
) I’d say Sir Ruben @Medina81 dragged the team all the way up.
Sir Glen pretty much had it, to my mind - I offered to let Sir Ruben @Medina81 choose next week’s route…with some trepidation.
Well, that may prove interesting. Just as an aside, and for Sir Rubin’s consideration. I did 1.5 hours of Power to the Tower as a banded ride. That covered only half of the ride. This is going to be a very LONG and HARD day in the saddle. Be prepared.
Unfortunately i was not able to join emeritus Knights once again, family time at the same time.
Priorities…
(kidding!)
