Hey Everyone, we are working on some ideas for future features and would love y’all to hop in and tell us more about how you stay motivated and consistent. We’d love your input.
We’ve put together a short survey (5–7 minutes) to understand what motivates you most, and whether features like Goals & Achievements would be valuable in the Wahoo app.
I’ve just returned yesterday from a cruise of New England and the east coast of Canada. Beautiful! But, being on a cruise is a brand new level of suffering! 13/10 would not recommend They say “never say never” but I say confidently, NEVER again!
Of course, now after spending a couple weeks in close proximity to 4000 of my closest personal friends, I’m now ill. Likely flu, could be CoVid but my home test kits have all expired and the test solutions are all but evaporated
I think the long-term goal is to merge the Systm app and the Wahoo app. It would make sense, and there have been occasional hints that a new workout player is being developed. Of course, this is just my speculation.
Yes, that’s why I’m not so critical about the lack of new features in the Systm app (the calendar functions really need an update^^). Why invest resources here when the whole thing is going to be discontinued anyway.
I agree it would be nice to know what are the goals (and achievements) of wahoo with the apps. My answers to the survey were somehow biased because I don’t really use the Wahoo app
@mgboehmer thanks for the survey. Though it wasn‘t a topic within the survey, I would like to bring up the community idea. Following people, seeing what workouts they had been doing, giving „Kudos“ or „Ride-ons“… I know it‘s silly in a way, but I like it.
Looking forward to the KnightRide this afternoon.
My guess is that it’s either a glitch or the survey doesn’t work on Firefox on my iPad and whatever browser you are using. It will likely be corrected soon.
And here’s some anecdotal feedback. My first bike computer was a boltv2, after many years with it, i decided to “upgrade” to Garmin 1040, partially because li was gifted a garmin watch and wanted everything on same ecosystem (garmin connect is indeed great).
At the beginning i loved the many features, and data fields garmin had. Over time, the difference in reliability between wahoo and garmin became more than evident, they started to annoy me very much. So I bought a new bolt v2 (I had gifted my old one). I was very happy with the reliability and simplicity of bolt (the “zoom” / more/less fields UI design is unbeatable). Then wahoo launched v3s, and my eyesight is not the same it used to be, so I got a roam 3.
Reliability with roam 3 wasn’t the same, my first unit was defective, and eventually it was replaced, but still v3 has issues booting up somtimes. And honestly, because of that, I still ride with my good old bolt v2 for most of my rides.
So what I mean is, whatever you do, please don’t undermine the reliability and simplicity of the units. You can totally go crazy with the app, but keep units pristine.
I’ve just completed your survey however here is some more food for thought, I’m a cyclist. It would be great if Wahoo would consider building / buying a route planning capability to incorporate into their existing capabilities. At the moment I use Komoot which was recently purchased by Bending Spoons (for$300m). As Strava and Garmin fight it out around heatmaps and data ownership Wahoo could emerge with more complete offering and a wider base for future development.
I got myself a B3 and it has become my go to unit for most of my riding in familiar territory. And, I gotta say, pretty dang reliable too. I much prefer using the WA to set it up and make changes to it vs the CA with my R2. As for size, I was a bit worried initially cuz my eyes are older too but I found that with 7 data fields I like it a lot and the necessary data screens are all legible on the bike without needing my reading glasses.
Also, for the record, I don’t work for The Company. I’ve just been around for a while
