The latest Wahoo app update seems to have updated the 4DP algorithm - I’m now a pursuiter with strength MAP whereas before I was a time trialist with strength FTP (actually I still am in the Systm app).
Just noticed this! Was a pursuiter, now I’m a climber!
Seems each area is graded as “Opportunity”, “Baseline” or “Strength” however in the How we calculate text there’s reference to modest and exceptional - I assume these map to baseline (?modest) and strength (exceptional) prehaps?
They seem to have removed mention of Full Frontal/4DP though, calling it a “Fitness Assessment” in the Wahoo App (the link still open 4DP in SYSTM thankfully!).
I’m still a Rouleur… last FF was on 1/13/25.
Have you that see changes just done an HM or FF leading into the change, or did it just change your profile without you doing either fitness test?
And did any of your 4DP values change as well?
I do more outdoors but have done more than usual indoors the last couple months, so I wonder on what basis they might determine a changed profile.
The classifications are done based on the relationships between the various components of the 4DP.
in my case, I think the reason I went from years of being a Pursuiter to Sprinter is because I knocked my self out during the AC section, and did not do as well with the MAP effort.
Hence the NM/FTP relationship, and the AC/FTP ratios were much higher than the MAP/FTP ratio. In the past my AC/FTP ratio was the lowest of the three ratios.
They’re talking about the Wahoo App, not the SYSTM app. There’s a bunch of merging going on between the two but as of now, the Wahoo App doesn’t have the video libraries. The home page of both are the same and there are other things they share.
It seems like the plan is to merge the 2 but they’re definitely not there yet.
Ah yes. So updating that I see the new screen. I always flipped between “Time Trialist” and “Pursuiter”, presumably being on the edge of those two so depending on how I did on a test would fall into one or the other.
I’ve gone from Rouleur to Pursuiter (which I’m pretty sure I have been in the past).
What I find most interesting about this new screen is the “style” of the bars in the Fitness Assessment box. That suggests to me that there might be a visual theme update on the way and, dare I say it, surely that would require a new workout player?! I’m probably completely wrong.
Can someone explicitly guide me to these changes in the Wahoo app? I noticed that it updated (v 6.53.0) on my device recently but I see nothing like what is being described in this thread.
I‘m a Pursuiter now too according to the wahoo app. In systm I’m still a time trialist. Systm’s result seems to fit better.
The German translation contains a translation error instead of “Stärke/Schwäche” for “strength/weakness” they use “Krafttraining” (strength training) for “strength”.
I believe it’s the top left corner. should be an icon with your rider type that you can tap/touch to open the account page, then tap/touch again to reveal your athlete profile
I appreciate the reply but I still don’t see it. Clicking on my profile picture just takes me to my personal profile, with name, age, weight, and unit selection. No 4DP profile or quiz anywhere to be seen.
I’ll not lose sleep over it, though.
According to my plan, I’ll be doing HM and FF in the next week, so I’ll see what becomes of it all, then
