Just finished No Place Like Home…now that’s the masterclass formula. Shouldn’t be impossible to sustain this content?

I skipped the pale imitation of the ToS this year and just recently rode roller coaster. Riding with fresh legs, it made me think I need to do a new ramp test or 4dp. Challenging, but not much suffering was my experience. And yes the narrative was clearly outsourced to couchlandria. It seems to me that there is enough expertise in this forum to create an alternative narrative and soundtrack (Spotify or some such thing) and present it to this forum.
Grunter clearly could have forced minions to build this amusement park to test whether sufferlandrians were liable to quit and eat donuts when the suffering was too great. Or the other teams could have created the images of sitting in the park or coasting downhill to distract the sufferlandrian team from winning the race. Anyone up for the challenge? I need the school year to finish before I can devote myself to the task, but perhaps others have a bit more time.

If my memory serves me correctly Sir Evan @emacdoug is the master at playlists. I think I remember him creating an alternative playlist for 9 Hammers.

The Rollercoaster soundtrack isn’t half bad. I found the biggest problem in the video is the lack of storyline and ā€œhookā€. With a proper storyline, the odd video clips and the music would catch a whole lot better. Although, music still is always a personal thing. And Sir Francois definitely knew (and still knows) how to make a banging soundtrack.

I have dreams about what Rollecoaster could have been under Sir Francois and/or Sir David McQ. * sigh… *

I plan to ride the Rollercoaster a second time next week. Why?

When my kids were little, we followed a ā€œtwo taste ruleā€ anytime I served a new food. They had to taste ā€œonce for surprise, and again to see what they really thought.ā€

I’m wondering if that will temper my initial reaction. I’m encouraged that Wahoo tried to create a new Sufferfest video.

all Sufferlandrians know There’s No Try, just DO. but I honestly doubt that any of the Wahoo team know this :sad_but_relieved_face:

Finally got round to completing Rollercoaster after 1 previous failed attempt. It is a tough workout and would need to be very fresh to complete at 100%. I have to say that I thought it was good. Music was good throughout. I liked the focus on footage for a single race and certainly at the end the finale with Pidcock, van Aert and Trentin was good to follow with some nice touches with the catch from I think G3 to G2 nicely timed for the end of an interval. One I’ll definitely do again and would take this over revolver for a session of short hard intervals.

I’m sure they see those get less use, so maybe consider it less RoI. I use them less. That doesn’t make them less important to me though. It would of course help if they hadn’t removed Local Hero (with rumors of returning it de-SUFed).

I have to admit, I thought this post sounded very judgmental, and I’m fairly hesitant to make too much out of things, but then I had a look, and wow, lyrics of ā€œCome on and touch my body. Now put your lips on mine,ā€ and they have a slow motion close up of kids in bathing suits on a water slide? I want to assume that whoever did the music and who did the video, just didn’t even coordinate at all. So best case here is complete incompetence. Wow.

Local hero still available for knights. Now seems like a good time to enjoy 10 Sufferfest workouts back to back, before they get ruined….

Yeah, I don’t really appreciate the company I’m paying expecting me to prove things to get content I already had access to. I pay them. They should perform for me, not the other way around. Nothing against Knights, just not in my priorities right now, and shouldn’t be related to this.

You are absolutely right. I never really understood why they made those videos knights only, especially when they weren’t replaced.

Yes, this is a huge thing that gets missed from some of this softening down.
That mentality can be huge. I have absolutely done race events in the past where I’ve spent good chunks of it saying to myself ā€œYou chose this. You wanted to do this. If it’s hurting you, it’s hurting everyone else and you’re doing fineā€ā€¦

You simply can’t go into race events and want/expect it to be comfortable and fuzzy. It’s hard. It hurts. The benefit is that it’s just as hard and painful for everyone else and often the common denominator in those who achieve is an increased ability/desire to simply cope with that fact.
