I got the update warning…
Mine shows the same, I think it depends if you had the old Recharger downloaded if you did you get the chance to ride it like if it hadn’t gone away or you can update to the new version. If you hadn’t downloaded the old Recharger you’ll likely get the new version released yesterday. If they do decide to bring back The Trick, Butter and There Is No Try then there is a very good chance if you hadn’t downloaded the old ones downloaded you will get them back to ride. I have my IPad with all the new updated remastered versions and my new Mac and 13 year old Mac have all the OG versions or as close to OG as possible with no workouts updated to newer versions.
The Greg Van Avermaet joke made me laugh out loud. So nice to have Recharger back!
I had the previous version downloaded. But I couldn’t use it because when they changed this workout to a Mike Cotty one they moved it into the On Location category (that probably changed its internal id) and my download was ignored.
They have data about how many people use certain training session, how they train, … but how should they now how many people are offended by this totally out of control h**ligan nonsense.
Because they have sales and subscription data and can see if there were any changes after the name change.
After the acquisition of The Sufferfest they’ve changed a lot at the same time. They released SYSTM (what a stupid, meaningless name) and added a couple of new training categories. The “introduction” of this offensive word happened during the rebranding of the “Tour of Sufferlandria” as far as I remember.
They might see a drop in subscriptions but it seems to be quite difficult to find a correlation between any of these changes including this name.
If there was a significant drop, they probably would have wanted to know why. It seems that whatever happened was not financially significant enough for them to investigate or care.
Sorry, but I seem to remember the Wahooligan catchphrase/slogan/whatever actually pre-dates the acquisition of Sufferfest, meaning they are trying to “streamline the customer experience” or however it is called in corporate lingo.
Based on the historical usage of the “Wah****gan” term (which definitely does pre-date the Wahoo purchase of The Sufferfest) and the comments we’ve received over the past few years, it’s obvious that the choice to continue using it is based not on any research whatsoever. Otherwise it would be obvious from the lack of any user support when the topic has ever been broached and the steep drop-off in participation and donations for the former Tour of Sufferlandria. There has never been any questions or statistics or opinion-gathering or any evidence-based discussion coming from Wahoo’s side. It’s just been users yelling at clouds and one or two meaningless corporate-speak replies.
So at this point it is unfortunately beating a dead horse. I think all the current active users have said their piece multiple times over. And Wahoo feels their best argument is to simply ignore the feedback. To say Wahoo has done any evidence-based marketing research on the topic is just an inferred guess until/unless they choose to actually have a conversation about it. And based on the continued silence I don’t see that happening. So instead we’re just yelling at each other as we argue our opinions on the term and the meaning of Wahoo’s silence, which is sadly nothing more than unproductive at this point.
I am sure that if they lost money because of the name change, they would have taken it back. There are quite a few examples of that in business.
As for the opinions of the people on this forum, we are a probably a minority of a minority.
It is interesting to note that they do seem to care about our feedback on the video quality. So they do react if they see it as important. Wahoo is not doing this out of the goodness of their heart.
@Rupert @helga I don’t suppose you could actually comment on Sir Evans excellent summary of the Wahoo stance? I’m not letting this go this time and will keep @tting you.
With all due respect, may I kindly ask you not to bring this issue into every single thread on the forum? You’ve already made your position very clear. This particular discussion is about the Recharger (re)remaster — where, by the way, the term doesn’t even appear.
Let’s please keep this thread focused on the actual topic?
With all due respect I didn’t introduce this into the thread, @Helga did. I will continue to call out until someone at Wahoo actually takes notice.
I do not like that name either. But there are far more important things in this world. I respectfully suggest that you get a life ![]()
I thought this forum was generally full of respectful people but you have proved me wrong. Ignorance is no excuse for not understanding why people have different views to your own. I’m happy to help educate you if you are willing. If not, good luck with life.
I respectfully think this conversation has overstayed its time in this thread and we should move back on topic to the original discussion of the return of Recharger.
Agreed!! Or if not Those Who Are Always Watching will censor us again!!
They are just pointing out that Wahoo has not, and will not engage on this issue. That is a fact, not a different opinion.
From that fact, they are drawing the inference that you will not be listened to by Wahoo, and therefore repeating your position is pointless.
They are then expressing the fact, that people are annoyed with your repetitive, pointless, statements.
I dunno… a lot of negative energy out there, but all I can say is “thank you thank you thank you…” for bringing it back in its current form. I enjoyed it and appreciate the efforts of the guys back in Atlanta.
