The point is that the Roam should also work without the Wahoo ecosystem. It doesnât feel right to be dependent on the manufacturer, not only for malfunctions but also if Wahoo were to decide to stop support or go bankrupt.
Lol what? My Suunto watch wonât send runs to Strava without going through the Suunto cloud first. I seem to recall Garmin is the same after they had an outage a year or so ago.
The unfortunate reality is that every device you buy today is probably dependent on the manufacturer.
Yeap, I just finished the workout and the .fit file is there now, the only file in the exports folder.
I donât know who tested this when they released the fix a couple of months ago, but this is very bizzare and unhelpful behaviour:
The toggles are off by default
You need the toggles to be on BEFORE finishing the activity in order to ever get the .fit files via MTP in the future
I guess a pretty obvious scenario for someone needing access to the .fit file, would be that the cloud is down and they need to manually upload it, and they never turned on the toggles.
So as there is no information or messaging that the .fit files are not created retrospectively people will be caught by this unless they turn on the toggle now for any future wahoo cloud downtimes??
Very bizarre. I will send a message to Wahoo support to enquire if this expected behaviour or not.
Yes, as I said, it should also work independently. With other devices as well. I know itâs the reality nowadays, but that does not influence my opinion.
OK so the workout appears in the Companion App but nowhere in the Wahoo App.
In the Companion App history, look at the workout. There might be a red icon, I think the top right - that would indicate itâs not synced to the cloud. Try tapping on that.
