Skipping a week in training plan and not dying while at it

Hi - I have read the posts about skipping a day or two due to external/out of control issues (i.e. non-fatigue related). What are your thoughts if I’d like to keep up with a training plan when I am forced to skip one of the “hard” weeks? Is it best to restart the plan from scratch, start where I left off or continue as suggested in the training plan?
