SUF Race Content Continued

@SirJoe initiated a discussion about Race footage which @Rupert requested be continued in a different thread to keep his Nit Picks and Typos thread focused.

At the risk of coming off ignorant to the ways of Licensing Agreements for race footage, I was riding The Best Thing in the World this morning and there is great Classics footage of Tour of Flanders circa 2015 (I believe). If that race is already licensed, it would seem there would be additional cobble / classic footage available for some of the hastily edited videos that may have lost their feel.

Just a thought that occurred while Suffering…

Rode the Mont Ventoux ProRide friday. The climb to the top would make a great block for The Way Out, which currently rides more like an On Location video.

You could probably consider that an On Location prototype. It also happens to be my favourite video in the Suf library

What about it makes it your favorite? Is it the actual structure of the workout? Music, scenery?

Do you think you wouldn’t enjoy it as much if the structure remained, but the climbs were race based, such as the end of the ProRace up Mont Vetoux?

The Way Out holds a special place in my heart because it was the first video I downloaded from the Sufferfest. As a workout, it’s sneaky tough while enjoyable, introduced me to a number of different climbs around France and Italy through not being a single mountain, with a great mix of music interspersed with (now) classic Sir @michael.cotty commentary.

I’m sure I could enjoy the workout if the video changed but I imagine I’d feel that nostalgic twinge that others feel when they talk of the original (original) Angels or A Very Dark Place.

It’s a classic that doesn’t need tweaking if not necessary.
