Sir Glen, you have me at several disadvantages. First, I have never done one so, unlike Christmas, I have very little positive anticipation. Second, I have never even heard of RedBubble.com. Third, I am not on Facebook for a myriad of reasons not related to cycling.
The late date is also problematic. I have a century planned right at the end of ToS on March 5th.
And if I could get past all that, if Yoga and Strength are mandatory, I’m out. I don’t do yoga. I do have a specific recovery routine including stretching and foam rolling. I do strength as well, my routine.
I love to ride. That’s why I subscribe to Systm. I love events like this. I did the Rapha 500 a few weeks ago and loved it. Sadly, I am not feeling it when it comes to ToS. Sorry!
You don’t need FB for this (I’m also not a fan and were it not for cycling (and my daughter ) I’d drop FB too).
The forum is the official race village anyway and it’s gonna be pretty active. Even with an event like you have scheduled, I’d still do the Tour. You can do it with intensities reduced so as to not derail your event goal. I don’t know GvA personally so I can’t 100% guarantee it but the experiment with adding yoga etc didn’t go over well and hasn’t been repeated. I also believe it wasn’t mandatory despite being included in some of the stages).
I edited my last response to you with a pic of Tours past so you have a sense of what to expect and don’t need to check out RedBubble. FYI, redbubble is just a place that has historically sold the official ToS posters and TShirts. Not sure if that will be the case this year or not.
I can’t make you do it, obvs, I just wanted to give you a fuller sense of what the tour is about. Check out some of last years Tour posts in the forum. There’s some classic stuff there and some very creative people.
I really doubt it will be there this year. There may be an option to add yoga to the ToS plan but I’d be gobsmacked it any extraneous stuff featured on the route itself.
Yoga and Strength are only included in the TOS Prep Plan to help get your body ready for TOS. Just like any other plan you are free to do them or not. Yoga and Strength are not actually included in the actual TOS stages. You can do your own warm up and recovery.
Well, except in 2019. There was a yoga, a strength and an MT session and there was a LOT of moaning in the Tavern and not the usual kind either I highly doubt there’d be a repeat of that, lol!
What would be really cool, would be if they did one vid from each year of Sufferlandria. It would mean 10 videos in 7 days, which is what they did last year. But we don’t have a new 2022 video…
It is not there yet, but I hope it will be released in the coming days. For this is already Prep-Plan and Post-tour-Testing: Plans / Cycling / Tour of Sufferlandria
The ToS Route will be announced by @dylan.robbins and myself LIVE on 1 Feb USA EST at 7pm (2nd Feb at 11am AUS EST). Put it in your diaries so you can join us – link will be posted in the next couple of days.
