Wahoo December Challenge: End Game

I completed the Tasmania: Cygnet Coast Road yesterday. I must say, I wasn’t ready for the challenge. :joy: Looking forward for the next actiivities!

When riding the Cygnet Coast Road with Nicole Frain, be sure to get your heart rate back down to zone 1 during the recoveries.

Yeah, I don’t see that happening!

Completed The Wretched this morning. I’m always super proud of myself when I compete this one at 100% power🙂

Whenever I see the zone one HR as zero to whatever i always think to myself “I don’t want a HR of zero”. It’s not important but one would think they would put a lower limit on it.

Just did mine minutes ago. Wasn’t looking forward to it, honestly. However, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Just wretched… but OK all the same…

EDIT: I think one thing that makes it hard is that the interval is just one big 36 min block and about 1/3rd of the way through it there is no light and no end to the tunnel. It’s tough on the psyche.

@JSampson @Isa @Heretic @emacdoug i just completed the Tasmania: Cygnet Coast Road workout for the December End Game Challenge and I was wrong in my earlier post about this workout. I hit every interval at the target power. I set a goal to hit every interval at no less than 90rpms and to stay in the saddle on every interval which I did and thanks to the “ghosts in the machine” which decided to not increase the power on the 26th interval and made me feel cheated, I added 5 more intervals to the end. I now only have the Tour de Suisse Women – Stage 2 workout to do to complete the December End Game Challenge:slightly_smiling_face:

Awesome, glad to hear that Sir Eric!

I did this workout yesterday, after a nice long warm up digging out my snowblower and then getting my deck cleared off compacted 1.5-3’ drifts. It’s not a self propelled one so I had arm day in quickly.

I am not sure if I’ll get this month’s challenge done since Cygnet coast looked the easiest for my rider type… cue manic laughter. It was a tough go but I never felt on the ropes.

But I fired up The Wretched this morning, not recovered from yesterday, and it was all I could do to finish. I’m wrecked. Time for a couple days off the bike!

Tour de Suisse Femme gets 2 thumbs way up! I did my last bike race about 40 years ago when I was in my mid 20s. This workout was way more “pro”, but it felt kind of like what I remember racing to be - random and at times hard. Loved it. 3 down - 1 to go.

December End Game Challenge, check :white_check_mark: :white_check_mark:. I wasn’t ready for today’s ProRide: Tour de Suisse Women 2 ride as I thought I was but, I got through it and hit all targets. I could go into detail but I’ll just leave it at that. I’m sure you all know the feeling….you go into a workout “feeling ready” but from the start it’s obvious that your body isn’t as ready as you feel like it is but at the end, you proud of yourself for seeing it through. Yep :slightly_smiling_face:

Suisse pro ride was my last of the year here this morning and I also was NOT ready for it. The first climb cooked me and I was just hanging on for the end.

Good challenge. See you all next year.

@Eric I find I need extra warmup time for that sort of intensity. I hit my stride after 30+ minutes of warmup which obviously is a lot of time so I don’t always do that and just suffer like you did.
