Wahoo November Challenge: Groundwork

Lay the foundation. Level up.

As the indoor season rolls on and the year’s finish line draws near, it’s time to steady your focus, reignite your form and build the engine that will carry you into the next chapter. This month is all about foundation—no flash, no fireworks—just smart, steady work that sets you up for serious gains.

Whether you’re coming off the intensity of SUFtober or preparing for the next big push, this is your block to build, refine and reset.

The 4 Workouts

  • Getting Away With It
A ride built for smooth pacing and sustainable pressure. Find your rhythm and control.

  • Italian Lakes: Lugano
Immerse yourself in a steady-state ride. Endurance, cadence, flow.

  • Power Station
Low cadence, high torque, serious leg work. Foundation-building at its best.

  • Gaimon Long KOM
One long climb, one mission. Threshold pacing and mental grit under sustained load.

Excellent … that’s tomorrow’s first workout chosen. Nice timing. Happy November when it comes.

Has Power Station been fixed after the initial remaster (essentially reremastered)? It fits in with my training plan and I will be doing more indoor riding this month.

It has since been remastered. The video material now fits the intervals much better. In my opinion, it still isn’t quite on par with the original. But it is definitely well done and competently produced.

Looking forward to this set of videos. I want to build knee strength/climbing ability/FTP/MAP so this slots in nicely with my goals and time available.

Fits well with the intention of what I aim for with November, less though from the fact that none are part of my FTP training block. But I am sure they can be made to fit in somewhere.

Kicked off with Getting Away with It this morning. Haven’t done that one in a while and got me thinking that as much as I like the on location videos, they’d be better with music.

Yes indeed Sir… GAWI, TGTTOS and TWO are the peak SirStandsalot. Up there with some of the best SUF vids.

After a week of travelling for work eased back into the hot lava bath of suffering with GAWI. Perfect for that. The dreary weather in the video mirrors the actual weather outside right now.

Another hiccup in the SYSTM archives which is now resolved. November badges are now visible if you completed the 4 workouts

Hi. I completed this challenge, but the “badge” is still greyed out. Am I missing something? The History on the app shows that I completed the last ride - Phil Gaimon 5 Long KOM efforts. But the History Beta doesn’t show this ride. Any thoughts or help on this?

Survived the traffic in Lugano, enjoyed some handy camera work and low cadence drills with the ever brilliant Mike Cotty. 2/4 done. Nice one, but fairly easy, as I stayed nearly constantly under the given heart rate zones. The Sufferfest this is not at around 15% below the average normalized power required to travel Sufferlandria.

edit: fixed now, thank you! :+1:

Thank you.

My goodness, I now remember why I’d only ridden Long KOM Efforts once before, back in May 2022 - what an absolute beast!

Got through it. Just. And then decided that a 90 min z2 ride might be nice. After 60 minutes my legs totally gave up even after reducing to 80% - this was a new experience for me and one I don’t fancy repeating. Couldn’t walk straight.

My fault for not taking any food to the pain cave - still learning I think…

Got the badge though and had a new teaser show up - not a replacement for Suf Day 2025, but maybe a related test given the title
