Wahoo X July/August Challenge - Proven in the Peloton

July, unless you have a time machine

hehe, the minion’s time machine must be completely broken cuz saying something was coming on July 11th and actually having that thing come on July 11th is a distinctly unminionlike action as it pertains to their known time/counting behaviours.

Occasionally unreliable people show up on time. There are always random occurrences.

Did Ventoux this morning first thing. Yuch!!!

Did it once. That was enough. Feb 15, 2023. Yuck is right!

Here were my notes:

1st half at 100%, 2nd half at 85%, 3rd half at 80%.

Edit: the thing for me about climbing is, I actually enjoy it…and I’m no light weight at 87kg atm. I find a good gear and cadence, hunker down, get in a groove, get to the top, get a sense of accomplishment, descend. Doing this ride in SYSTM is just a kick in the chamois. There’s no joy in it for me.

I did the ride today at 100% for the first hour and 55 minutes. For the last 20 minutes (well 13 minutes of the ride since the cool down was 7 minutes) at 97%. I just needed a bit of a spell.

Right now I am 92kg so I get it.

Glad somebody does, I actually, genuinely, unequivocally hate it! Sorry to use so many qualifiers but I didn’t want anyone to miss the point.

I like the scenery. also, the scenery. and thinking about it, perhaps the scenery…
set it to Level Mode, put on some good music, best way to do it and enjoy the - erm - scenery

Give me a hill climb over a headwind anyday. At least when you get to the top you feel like you have achieved something! But then, i am a featherweight.:dash:

I’m dreadful at climbing, it’s immensely satisfying but i’m dreadful at it, but this 100%. Headwinds suck.

I’m horrible at climbing but truly love every bit of it

Hey, as true sufferlandrians we’re born to suffer and must love climbing even more when it’s painful.

How about climbing and having a headwind.
I think that has happened to me once or twice.

I gotta say, as brutally unrelenting as headwinds can be, living in the prairies (aka Big Sky Country) where I can ride for hours and hundreds of kilometres with less than 150 metres of gain I will often seek out a route directly into the headwind for the PURE JOY of the tailwind on the return. :dash::dash::dash:

In saying that, I’ve also gone for an hour or two into a headwind only for the wind direction on the return to abruptly change to a headwind or cross headwind. :man_shrugging:t3:
