Yup that’s me. Please let me know the retroactive method to join thanks
Here are the instructions from DPF
How do I join a team after I have registered for the Tour?
Log in to your participant center, click the Profile tab, click the Event Options tab, select the Join a Team bubble, use the search tool to find your team, click Join Team in the search results. Or, if that doesn’t work, send Lauren an email at TeamDPF@dpf.org
Lemmeno if you have any issues.
Ha! Back when I lived im Süd Bayern, I had an elderly neighbor who just used “die anderen” to refer to the rest of Germany. Told me all I needed to know about Bavaria.
(ich vermisse Bayern wirklich )
I thinks you should think of the cause we are all doing this. If you don’t like the route don’t do it. Negative comments don’t belong when we are all raising money for a great cause and person.
Oh contraire, young jeep driver. This is Sufferlandria, where everyone has a voice. And this is the forum, which is built and populated by us. Some who’ve been here - and been with Sufferfest - since its humble, DVD beginnings. (And are holding on to them for dear life). Some of us have been beta testers for The Company’s efforts. We have skin in the game.
We meet here to exchange ideas, to chat, to tease, and to grieve. Everyone has that right, including those who’ve watched The Company slowly exsanguinate all that is good and enterPAINing out of a system that we’ve known and loved.
Yes the cause is great, and worthy of support - and I know the Phinneys, and care about them very much. But that doesn’t abrogate what the Company is doing to the platform. Nor does it put them above criticism from their most dedicated and committed members. (Even if we can’t get a new kit to save our lives…)
et fini
Well, yes
and no, sorta kinda.
The passion of Sufferlandria runs VERY deep. Remember this whole event started as The Tour of Sufferlandria in 2013 and continued, for 10 years, to be The Tour of Sufferlandria until 2022 all the while raising money for the Davis Phinney Foundation You’ll have to forgive our disappointment when such little fanfare is being brought to this event since The Company renamed it in 2023. There was soooooo much excitement (and trepidation) at the pending release of the route as much for the silliness and fun and creativity that went into the announcement not to mention the route which always presented an incredible challenge in and of itself. There were posters that could be purchased
and Race Bibs that could be customized and created
Also, and perhaps more importantly, if you’d read a little further, you’d also see that, rant aside, he’s all in, as am I, and as are you:
Extra for Sir @Glen.Coutts for putting more effort into his rebuttal than I did. (Per usual).
Always this as a favourite …
I plan on doing the tour (and I have already registered).
How much I will participate in the “encouragement of suffering” will depend on the community enthusiasm.
@AZAP1 , well said and thanks for riding the Tour with us this year and raising money for a great cause! We appreciate your efforts and I look forward to seeing you on the start line in just a few weeks.
As other have said, the Tour has been around quite a few years now and has evolved over that time but always with the goal of benefitting the Davis Phinney Foundation. The beauty of the Tour is that it is as hard as you want to make it with the option to take a fitness test right before to train with numbers which re going to challenge you or to manually adjust the intensity.
However you decide to ride, we are all doing this together for a common cause so the more positivity the better
Rupert about any other topic, question, or issue in the forums…
ONE guy drops a “yay Wahoo, let’s all get along”…
How’s that new kit release coming? It is Monday, you know.
Couldn’t agree more Sir… something Wahoo have spectacularly failed to do since the half-baked takeover and subsequent obliteration of Sufferlandrian lore.
Welcome back to the fora after a year away… also, this is a public discussion board and all comments, whether you agree or not are welcome.
I pay my subs, just like you do, so that earns me the right to have a moan every now and then.
Nice bit of VS there too. Everyone knows why we do this year on year. For some folk it’s maybe their very own Mt. Sufferlandria. The donations to the DPF are just a part of it.
I hope you will be riding this years Tour and Suffer accordingly.

I don’t really agree with this comment. He’s replying to a comment about the Tour on a thread that is about the Tour - where else should he write that?
It’s a good thing this thread is on Discourse hey?
Sorry to post this here, but I remember reading something about a three-week Suffering Tour, somewhat replicating the Grand Tours. I can’t seem to find it now. If anyone else remembers, could you point me in the right direction?
With so much talk around the blunt route, it kind of planted this slightly uncomfortable idea in my mind. it still seems like a good idea… at this time.
The chatter about a 3 week Tour started here (if you scroll up in that thread, you’ll see what started the gears turning)
Thank you very much Noble () and Meritorious Sir Glen!
I could also point you at the pleasingly pointy Sufferlandrian route variations I created. Discomfort Guaranteed (or GvA will be displeased…).
Gaah!! A circular route (edit: now fixed )that leads you to the top of this thread. VERY minion of you
This is the thread you meant to link
Weird. I’ll edit the hyperlink
