Week after race question

Hey all, had a great race this last weekend after a good 12 weeks or so of training. Planning to take a few days off but also have a big Fondo in late October. Would like to do an FTP test at some point. Curious what a prudent way to do this would be… I know there’s a lot of talk about taking a week off in between blocks. Should I got a Half Monty on Sunday… give myself the full week off… or just go by feel?

Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks!

Recover this week. FF week plan next. Lots of flexibility and stretching to keep those muscles loose.

I heartily advocate doing the 7 day test plan with a HM on day three and the FF on day 7. Gives a good consistent lead up to the FF and uses the HM results to set targets for the FF. I believe this gives the most consistent and reliable results. It’s also a solid week of workouts.

Agreed, though I might JUST do the HM pre-GF, then do the full HM/FF week AFTER.
