What's next for Systm?

I’ve always had issues with Zwift and erg mode for workouts. Zwift has the stars to show how well your power matched up to the prescribed intervals and it never made sense that I would get half stars when I was riding them in erg mode. That never made sense to me. But it always did feel like Zwift was not as good at holding my power in erg mode than when I used SUF or SYSTM.

I thought that was nailed on after the nicey nicey way the court case was settled, but the TR integration makes me think that that ship might have sailed. I think Chip’s position might be that he founded the company as a hardware developer and that’s his intention going forward. The broadening of the operation occurred under the people he sold to, no?

I’m pretty sure, though not 100%, Chip was in the thick of it when wahoo bought SUF.

I just turn on a Peacock rerun of a tour stage (or something) and minimize the SYSTM window. I kind of like those TrainerRoad style no-vids a couple of times a week.

You mean like this? :heart_eyes::heart_eyes::heart_eyes:

So. Happy. :face_holding_back_tears:

Pretty sweet new kit, too…

Nice! Red for suffering, white for the purity of suffering, and black for suffering.

Feel like I’ve seen it before…

The only “big” implementation I saw between SYSTM and RGT was precisely this.

I don’t have much hope though, which really sucks because I’m still in “X” package mindset: SYSTM and RGT. Yeah, it might take some time, but we have them. Not anymore.

I’m still waiting to not have to “write down” my running workouts from SYSTM.

Looks like the Canuck team colours as they prep for L.A. in 2028 Cap’n Sir Ian:

Can’t get much more SUF than that!

Ha! They DO! I remember seeing that announcement. Good looking kit.

And 2028 can’t get here soon enough…if you know what I mean. OH GOD WE’LL BE IN AN ELECTION YEAR FOR THE OLYMPICS. I’m so embarrassed.

Hell I don’t know, maybe Cali will be its own country by then.

This is the final nail in the coffin for me (TR via Zwift). It’s a shame but all good things come to an end and it’s been pretty apparent this past 18 months that wahoo aren’t really that interested in the training app. I’m moving across.

You spend your money where you want, of course, but if you are interested in a training app then you’re comparing the quality of workouts between TrainerRoad and SYSTM.

Bearing mind that, for most people, following a program will yield positive results, do you believe that TR has a better set of plans and workouts than SYSTM? Is TR’s “AI” adjustments better than SYSTM’s 4DP? Do you think that integration with Zwift will provide better visuals than SYSTM?

I believe SYSTM provides the best training environment, with a current set of workouts that I’ll never get fed up of using.

Say what you like about TR AI but at least they try to move forward. Wahoo is stagnant and dying and that’s not a nice position to be in.

Also 4DP is too hard. I only have the drive to do it once a year, max. So AI might not be as accurate but it’s more practical.

I agree the workouts and visuals are great but I’ve a short attention span and cannot imagine doing them year on year without any decent new content coming out.

You are confusing 4DP, a metric by which riders are defined by a power profile, and FF (Full Frontal), a test by which that baseline profile is determined.

I don’t share the sentiment that SYSTM is stagnating. There are enough workouts, plans, and combinations therein to keep me occupied for the rest of my active life.

It does not matter to me if TR is moving forward if SYSTM is still better.
When TR moves past SYSTM then I would consider changing.

Hey Sir @Mikejeff, first, you can never leave  While I am right along with you on the short attention span thing, doing the SUF vids year on year is one of the things that make them special. I’ve done many of them MANY times and have yet to tire of them. I also agree that not having decent new content sucks yak balls but that’s not enough to have me leave. The only thing that would see me leave is if they decommission all that fantastic SUF content or if they de-SUF it to the point of being unrecognizable (like the new Primers).

For my $, SYSTM continues to be a unique offering in the training space. Doing structured workouts on a SIM will, for me, always be a drag and is just a short step from a terminal case of TTBS :face_vomiting:

I’m not confusing 4DP with full frontal because the only way to truly determine your 4DP is by doing a FF and going into the very depths of hell!:joy: I do enough racing for that but I don’t mind as it’s a race. I don’t need it on a cold February morning in my garage though.
