ANNOUNCING: The new Sufferlandrian National Team Kit

That’s funny and sad that it’s probably true - cheap flight to wherever the office is and job done.

Ps. and bring back a few sets …

Sizing is always such a pain… the size chart, based on waist and hips, suggest I should get a medium, but experience tells me I’ll need XL to fit my somewhat abnormal thick thighs into the legs

@Sir_Paul have you thought about using mail forwarders? For example, have it shipped to Germany and from there forwarded to UK. I used a service mailboxde.com for some Wahoo stuff and it didn’t cost much.

Germany to UK would now have to be custom checked, handling, vat and customs charges to be paid sadly.

Could you use a service to buy it in the USA and then have it shipped to the UK?

Still pay customs charges on items coming from the US unfortunately. That operation seems slick so there is likely to be better understanding of what you will pay, but it’s still a stinging charge…

Thanks for the info on post Brexit charges, as you said it may be easier to order it and fly there to pick it up at this rate!

A cap + some socks + US shipping = $60. Ya crazy.

It’s a shame Cuore of Switzerland (this is funny right) seem to work out of Germany. Just a pure unlucky thing as Switzerland is fine for posting and the EU is not.

I was getting replies from the Cuore team. But no contact now sadly.

I believe the current ordering window will be closed now too .- so this becomes more urgent … and I for one don’t fancy what could be a significant bill for a top, so we really need answer from the company in how stuff will be treated or they shouldn’t make (mine) anyway.

(to me it was a non issue when ordering at first as they were a Swiss company charging VAT at source was my understanding - which means stuff has paid the appropriate tax already and we don’t pay tax again) but of course that’s now not the case if it comes from the EU instead.

If anyone else gets any reply can you post here?

Hi folks - have an UK delivery update from Cuore.

If we (I do) have any pre end of year orders for Wahoo kit they can’t currently send it as it will be subject to additional tax and handling in top of the VAT we’ve already paid if they do. So they’re holding on to that stuff just now pending a solution.
That kit is already produced as well !!

For orders for SUF kit (so 2021 onwards) it’s the same but the kit isn’t being produced is the only difference. They’re holding back production of Sufferfest kit fir UK orders for now so in that scenario there isn’t an option to pay double tax just to get it (plus handling and plus any additional customs fees it over a certain value).

Fir example - the wahoo kit was about 230 EUR including VAT at 19%

If I elected to have that delivered anyway as it’s already produced, then there would then be another 20% tax applied here in the UK (so paying 39% VAT), a handling fee of anywhere between £8 and £20 dep in courier, and an unknown (because I can’t remember the value limits) amount in additional duty (which might be something like 10% but I can’t remember.

For the SUF kit we don’t yet have that option as it’s not being produced but we can cancel the invoices and get refunds.

I have have had same news from Cuore and had to cancel my original order for Knight kit as couldn’t justify the additional charges. Sad days

Yeah. I’m about to cancel last years Wahoo kit AND my SUF/Knights stuff.
The good news is it’s a handy time to have that money back, though sadly then makes it harder to find in the future eh.

Just received the same email about extra costs from Cuore…now deciding whether to cancel or not…Brexit…the gift that keeps giving😡

Hi - an order update from the UK:
Ordered a new KOS jersey after the launch announcement, but have just had an email from Cuore to say:
" Hi Chris,
many thanks for your order in our “Welcome to Sufferlandria” Team Shop.

There are still many problems with importing goods from the EU to the UK regarding the BREXIT.
Even the large logistic service providers like UPS and DHL cannot deliver as before.
There is only one solution to receive the goods at the moment: You have to pay additional import sales taxes(20%) when you receive the parcel.

Your order is ready for production. Is that (additional 20% on delivery) OK for you? If not, we will cancel your order and credit the invoice you have already paid.
Please let me know your decision until next Friday, 5th Feb. 2021.
Many thanks."

The whole import situation into the UK is a total mess at the moment where we are having to pay double tax on everything. Needless to say, much as I love the new kit, and I’m sure that they are the very best quality, I’m not willing to pay that extra 20%…as I’m sure that there will be a resolution to that tax import problem soon(ish)…I hope. I’ve been waiting for my KOS jersey for almost a year now and guess that a few months longer won’t make that much difference!! :crossed_fingers:

So if you are ordering from the UK, just be aware that a jersey from Cuore CH will presently cost you GBP145 (inc Eur10 postage)…plus potentially other handling & duty (possibly upto a total of GBP200) the most expensive cycling jersey I almost bought!

Might just go and get Suff tattoos all over my chest/arms & ride bear-chested - don’t let the b***ards grind you down!!!..We are Sufferlandrians!!!

I’ve noticed traders on EBay also are +20%.
Clever ones put price down and postage up so less paid on duty.
Is that an option for Cuore?

No not an option for Cuore. Proper processes. eBay traders doing that are fraudulent (albeit at a level that HMRC possibly don’t care about I guess)

I bit of a diversion from the UK postage questions here - but has anyone received a kit yet?

I’m hoping to order the Knight’s kit (once I receive Minion confirmation of course…) and could use some help on sizing.

I’m 5’ 11", 170lbs (77kg), 38R in suit jacket, and pretty slim. In Giordana and Castelli tops I’m a Large, and in my WBR Rapha kit I’m a Medium (it’s more race fit) but I’m genuinely a bit lost in the Cuore Size/Arm Length/Body Length options.

I’m also not clear on if I can return it if it is the wrong size…

Thanks for any help!

@aerobrain

I was going for medium at 5’9” and from some digging around that was looking pretty much like it would have been fine.

I’m 5’11 but 95kg and my wahoo Cuore kit is XXL bib and jersey. Bibs fit perfectly with no length adjustment but the jersey I would shorten by 5cm. But with you being quite a bit lighter you’ll likely get away with a smaller jersey that’ll be shorter anyway.

I imagine you could measure a jersey you have (laid flat out) for the width armpit to armpit plus the length then maybe message Cuore for advice?!
