Bad Plan - Impromptu Knighthood Attempt

I forgot to say, I am surprised at how well I’m recovering. I thought I would feel really fatigued at least until Tuesday but I have felt pretty good and rode a decent recovery ride last night. But, I don’t want to push it. I’m scheduled to do the half Monty on Friday as part of the training plan. I’m considering doing full frontal instead because I haven’t done one in a while but I know for me half Monty is an easier effort.

So FF then? :smiling_imp:

Actually, I had the same thought too when I completed mine last May. In fact, I think I was still having a lot of adrenaline by the time I wanted to hit the sack at about 10pm (I completed at around 5:45pm) and was having a little bit difficulty falling asleep.

But good to know you’re recovering well Sir Rich!

Actually don’t consider, just do it :smirk:

I am committing to full frontal today! I was trying to explain this to my wife yesterday and the funny looks she was giving me were priceless!

Not as funny as you will look after that final one-minute effort. Or the 20-minute effort. Or the 5 minute effort. You will not look funny after the sprints though, so you’ll have that going for you!

We continue to encourage bad idea execution, so go for it!

My wife thought the faces I was making during FF were funny, but something about how she said it made me think she wasn’t laughing about it

Anyway, I am pleased to report that I hit all time indoor 5 and 20 minute numbers (and best for this time of year ever too)! My 5 second was flat and the 1 minute was down a bit but I am ok with that because I think I am probably still just a little fatigued from the KOS. My power actually crept up during the 20 minute which is the opposite of how it usually goes for me (at least indoors…I tend to get hot in the basement and after about 10 minutes at high power I can’t seem to get rid of heat fast enough).

All in all, bad ideas with good execution(?). Thanks for the prodding though…left to my own devices I might have put the test off another week. I guess the old body still has some good miles in it!

To further paraphrase:

“Everybody has a plan until they get punched with a 2 minute MAP segment”
