Oh my lord, what happened to this workout? The music was awful, the footage was terrible and that was truly suffering sitting through that. No vid or audio when I have to do this one again……
Was that the video where it had no music, but was a video for a tour of Hong Kong or some race like that, and then for the last couple builds switched to riding on the auto circuit for a stage in the Tour of Abu Dhabi or Dubai?
As you seem to imply here, Sir Evan, the remastered version isn’t fantastic, but it’s better than the old one was!
I knew it changed but I didn’t remember what the new one looks like. I had to look just now.
I seem to recall that the new video used for the first 3/4 of the remaster was previously used for a different workout. Maybe it’s was Open 20 or something like that which no longer exists. Or I could be misremembering. But it looks too familiar to be brand new footage.
I have no comment on which is better. As long as the hamsters are still there for the builds then the rest is mostly just fluff. Although I see the World Bike Relief PSA is gone. Would like to see an updated version.
Didn’t the original Cadence Builds have the really long 7 minute recovery sets between each build then they were shortened to 3 minutes? Also, if memory serves, the original video finished with the last two or so builds with footage of the peloton on a race track of some sort?
As far back as July 2020 when I joined, the workout profile has been the same: warmup, followed by six 30-second builds with 4 minute recovery intervals in between the builds. I think the current footage for the warmup and recoveries up until the last two intervals looks the same as it’s been for all that time as well. But the last two were formerly from a night race held on the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. That footage was apparently where’re the licensing ended, requiring remastering.
The original did have 7 minute z2 after a brief recovery post builds but was reduced after muchos whining ![]()
Grunter has become far too inclusive these days ![]()
No complaints from me - gets the job done which is usually getting me warmed up for a full body workout ![]()
