Love the aero helmet - GET AFTER IT!..on that banded ride.
So what do you think about kicking the afternoon ride back one more hour, then just doing a morning and afternoon ride? Not much buy-in on the overnight ride so far - would need the Asian Knights to step up. No harm in posting it though, I guess?
I was wearing the aero helmet @CPT_A …
I’m good for anytime from 10 am CDT to 2 pm CDT for the time being so sure.
Prefer closer to 1200 PDT. Gives me time to get morning Chores done.
Ok, we’ll stick w the current plan for now.
Disappointed no one turned up for the ride this morning at 0700GMT.
I started the ride on my own, hoping someone would join soon but gave up after 15 mins. Shame.
All was not lost as I then went and climbed Ventoux in the name of our Glorious Nation.
Much Suffering was had.
Hope we can get some folks together for this side of the planet Zwift rides in the future.
Good Grunter, THAT’S early!! I don’t wanna ride at 0700 anywhere in the world!
That said, in the before times, when I had a job and all, I used to ride (by ride I mean, I would stick with them as long as I could before getting dropped) with a group on Tues/Thurs mornings at 0600 for an hour long hammerfest, a quick coffee, then a commute to the office. But that was forever ago.
I’m not sure of all the coding/physics behind how this works but it was the first time I’ve been in a rubber banded ride and it was interesting albeit fun. I hope our antics during the sprint sessions didn’t cause you to blow out of the endurance zone. I didn’t realize we hit the second one until I looked up and saw fire coming off someone’s tires, which I have no idea how they did that.
Always wished I could do this. Never really worked w my career(s). And we CX folks don’t exactly get together and do club rides…
not at all, it’s the beauty of the band, Sir. I toodled along, and when you guys ripped it up, I got pulled behind so my speed increases ridiculously, while my power remained in Z1-2.
this wasnt a club, really, just a known ride in town where everyone tried to rip each others legs off. Many of the riders, myself included at the time, also rode CX. Was great for my fitness and humbling for my ego
Bit early for me on a Sunday, but would have been tempted if not for Full Frontal this afternoon (which according to my records i’ve avoided redoing for the last 3 and a half years… )
Remind me to send you that container of concrete pills. I found it very helpful for my 4.30am wakeup so I could get on the bike at 5am, ride for the 6am ferry to join the 6.30am group ride.
Hehe. Also, ouch. Also, I didn’t say I couldn’t or haven’t, just that I don’t wanna.
I did do a couple early morning sessions with Sir Neal’s group on his new platform, but that was with Sir Neal so…
That hurts, man…
What new platform?
Id probably stay awake all night to do a ride with Sir Neal so fair nuff
Sir Alex, Dame Lisa and anyone else interested. I used Apex’s new online platform on a 2 week free trial. Gave a bit of a review on it on FB. Here is the link to the FB thing
Here is a link to more info on Apex’s online training platform: VELOCITY ONLINE TRAINING | APEX COACHING AND CONSULTING
“Once you’ve created your account in Velocity, you’ll receive two weeks of free access to all of the APEX Coaching training sessions – live, scheduled, and on-demand!”
Sir Neal led one of the morning sessions I did, another of his coaches led another. It’s actually pretty cool and there’s a lot to like about it but the value proposition just wasnt there for my personal situation. I even tried his modified RAMP test on the platform which looks pretty promising but that was in beta so needed a bit more work.
Thanks for this, Glen. I’ll check it out.
