Last Chance to See: Some Inspiration Films

I’ve found the Outskirts and Thereabouts series… well, not awesome, but watchable. Good options for some zone 2 time. My favorite was Outskirts 3 - there are a couple of techno-music-low-light-trance-riding shots that I really liked.

Thursday Fields is a gem!
Never ridden Outskirts 3 before, @aolariu, I queued it for tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestion.

@aolariu Three was my favorite as well. The whole instant coffee thing was hilarious.

I’d never done an Inspiration workout, I tend to watch Triathlon YouTube videos during zone2 training.

Nothing like a deadline to “inspire” so I gave Poulidor a try before it was gone. Did really enjoy getting into a longer documentary while riding!

Probably irrelevant as it’s about to be culled but with it being in French and as I watch on a phone, the subtitles were tiny. Full TT position to get close enough to the handlebars to read them!!

I have four to complete, two of which are in my plan this week. Outskirts two and three

Am I missing something here? What is the purpose of “downloading” if you can’t keep the workout but it eats up hard drive space? Is it to make it play better? (I did that “Ride the Divide” earlier and the picture quality wasn’t great and it froze up just before the hour but just had to carry on it unfroze a few minutes later)

Some people have rubbish internet in their dungeons. Or bandwidth limitations.

That’s why I download the workouts before I ride them. You don’t want that happening on FF or HM

Aaaah yes, that would be mighty annoying! So if you’ve downloaded one do you have to play it from the downloads page or will it do it automatically? Ie I have the Shovel downloaded it’s been in the calendar to do tomorrow, so will it run from my pc or web/net if I access it differently IE from the calendar press start, or from the downloads page press start? Sorry to sound a bit thick I’m just getting older and a bit left behind lol…

It defaults to using the downloaded version regardless of how you initiate the session

This is correct.

Just caught up on Thursday Fields as a warmdown post Sufferfest.

I am now planning to relocate from the English countryside to NYC so I can get involved in that club, what a vibe!!

4days left to watch A Dogs Life 1/2 now, need to earn those Zone1 warmdowns first though.

Even if the Inspirational videos are replaced, perhaps the background workout could be kept in another format; I have done some of the videos with the video aspect disabled… so I can watch other content such as Game of Thrones as I do the workout

Those are great fun to watch - easy to squeeze in. I found them super engaging.

Cheers, I managed it! Seems I’m as motivated by a deadline as much now as I ever was back in school/uni days. Cutting it close to the deadline is a must.

Thursday Fields is an exceptional watch but I also really enjoyed the Dogs Life series. Seeing what goes into these short 4min viral videos was fascinating and the end product … well WOW!!

Now for the Feb deadline videos … although probably not until closer to the cut off

i personally find the inspirational videos rather boring to watch…too much talking, not enough riding imho. Instead of getting inspired, i get bored and stop.
If the actual ride profile was more like a workout in sufferfest, i may stay. but the combo of no terrain elevation change with documentaries …ugh

Thanks for the warning and bringing in new stuff! i want more suff, a day with and pro rides watching cycling plus racing, maybe some hill races with pack of riders vs solo Conty climbs??

Same as you, but I don’t stop. I just watch something else. I don’t get much out of watching people ride long rides. My motivation comes from the kind of stuff you have mentioned too.

That is what made something such as Thursday Fields so different. For those who wish to just watch the documentary, I found this online where you can see the entire film.

Even if I knew that Systm (Sufferfest) would default by tomorrow, I would get myself a prepaid annual subscription.

It found so much comfort* in those trainings, that is worth more than any annual subscription fee.

*The comfort in those uncountable hours of pain, where I just knew, that I will be able to finish the session, because it has been designed and scaled in a way that fits to what I can handle. Even if I, more often than not, could by no means image how I can ever make it to the end. It helped to silence the inner voice and let me concentrate on putting pressure on the pedale.
I have not found any other platform that engages me to the same extend as this one does.
