My local MTB XC race season has started. I’m currently training on the Marathon MTB training plan however the workouts scheduled before and after race day I’m having to skip. I’ve been doing Primers before race day and either nothing the day after or a brief recovery ride. Races are twice a month on Wednesdays from now until August. Would it be best to create my own schedule to coincide with my races?

Take the plan as a base and customize based off of your season schedule.
I would take the day after the race to do a punchy ride. Some of my fastest days are days after a race. Following day from that as AR or off.
