Preparation and proof

Hello my fellow sufferlandrians. Though I am at systm before it was named like that, I used to be a silent follower in the forum. Times have changed and I don’t want to suffer alone in my cave. After upgrading it with a kickr bike shift I decided that it is time to go for THE challenge. I want to become a Knight of Sufferlandria. I learned about the rules, I already selected the videos but what I don’t know is: How do I prove that it was me on the bike? Do I have to set up a TV-studio? Do I have to invite a Knight or Dame to check on the attempt?

Thanks for your input!

OldSchoolBastard

I don’t think there is any particular requirement to prove it was you on the bike. I did however post a few pictures in the forum during and after, which I guess would provide some proof. The activity log in SYSTM proves that someone did it, and I doubt you’ll find someone willing to do it for you and get no recognition. I guess there is a certain amount of honesty required, and if someone wants to cheat they may get away with it, but they’ll know they didn’t do it and it takes nothing away from those that have.

Thank you, Sir James,

that seems fair. I already thought of a internetsite with live-streaming… But with that information I am just fine. My wife is already looking forward, seeing me suffer a whole day and is more than willing to make some pictures.

Here the menu:

  1. The Shovel (1:13:54)
  2. Nine Hammers (0:58:12)
  3. The Downward Spiral (0:54:04)
  4. The Omnium (0:47:20)
  5. 14 Vise Grips (0:55:09)
  6. Team Scream (1:09:41)
  7. Violator (1:03:43)
  8. Blender (1:41:47)
  9. Clobber (1:46:20)
  10. ISLAGIATT (1:50:58)

There is a logic behind this. And I am sure GvA would be proud of the criterias.

The attempt will be June 4th or June 6th. Depends which day suits my supporting crew (wife and daughter) better.

That looks like a suffertastic and very enterpaining list!

I don’t know that Violator is still an option, anymore, now that it’s been remastered, unfortunately.

Violator does appear on the eligible list here: https://support.wahoofitness.com/hc/en-us/articles/4406074947090-How-to-become-a-Knight-of-Sufferlandria.

So, unless that list isn’t up to date, I think it’s okay

Yeah…. But is The 64 actually still The Sufferfest Violator in its current remastered form?

That would be like riding the On Location Costa Blanca workouts for Butter, There is No Try, and The Trickz

@Rupert could you weigh in? Can you confirm that The 64 (Violator) an eligible video for a Knighthood? When I click the link for Violator on the eligible vids list, it brings up The 64

That link is where I updated my stages. I made an excel sheet once I started sufferfest some years ago, but I was not well prepared at the time. When I checked last week, I found out some of the workouts I noted, weren’t on the list anymore. But violator still is, with the link to the 64.

I tried to cover all 4-dp areas with at least one 5-star workout. Beeing an attacker with good recovery but a strong weakness on sustained efforts, I thought I should test my mental abilities with clobber and ISLAGIATT as finishing stages.

Hi, thanks for the tag and I am happy to put this to the Knights for confirmation but I would say that unfortunately since remastering we have moved it to the Wahoo Fitness channel so it is no longer Knightood eligible. I will get the list updated.

Well, until confirmation that Violater is a valid video, I’ll put The Modell in, instead. Sad because Violator always caused me some serious suffering.

Is it true that as member of the knighthood one can access all the great old stuff, too?

Yes, there are three old videos you get access to. Local hero, the hunted, and the original version of fight club, which is ridiculously hard.

Oh I’ll have to give that a go, didn’t realize it was actually a different workout.

Like @sir_james.p mentioned, there are only 3 legacy videos that Knights have access to. All the remasters in the past year and a half are not included. The previous 3 were remastered to improve quality. The recent remasters were because of licensing, so they are not still available for use, sadly.

Violator is very unique among Sufferfest videos, so - as well as the other others - I hope this one can also be re-remastered as a Sufferfest workout again in the hopefully near-future.

Yeh, it’s got more attacks in it. It plays to my weakness of repeated surges, I have never managed to finish it without at least one crack.

That’s a weakness of mine as well, I shall have to try it, thanks.

Go forth and crush that list, OSB!

We shall wait for you at the gates.

I just had a look at the KoS-plans in Systms. Violator is not included in the longest or the hardest rout. One can always argue which video is harder (cough, cough), but it is not part of the longest route, which it should be, if it was an eligible video. So question answered. The Model it will be.
