Subs going up?

Had a notification to lock in a years subscription at the old price now before an annual price rise. Any idea what the new costs will be for the annual and the monthly please

Right, I got the same one (actually wrote about it in a separate thread).

Anyone knows what is going on?

Looks like it’s increasing to 129. I thought that was the price from a message a long time ago.

Same here.

No explanation of when the increase comes into effect or how the lock in works with your current subscription. My annual subscription is valid until mid January - will the lock in extend it from this date if paid now?

I think the lock in is $129 (ie the old price). No mention of what the new price is.

Even at $129 I’ll be paying around 20% more due to the current exchange rate

That’s a good question. When my subscription came up last month I wanted to use a visa gift card that was expiring at the end of August. I asked if they could charge that card a week early to use up those funds. I was told their billing processes did not allow them to bill early. They could only bill on the due date. My only option would be to cancel my subscription and then start a new one.

So either they figured out a way to solve that problem and bill early in the past two months or, you will lose any remaining time on your current subscription. My guess is they figured it out.

It is very unclear when the price is going up and how much by from what I can see either on the e-mail or once logged in to my account - very poor communication from Wahoo.

When do I need to decide by?

Can one of the minions answer these questions please. We are all freaking out!

For me, a six-month subscription would be the perfect solution. I don’t use it in summer and the monthly one is not cheap. (At the current dollar exchange rate, compared to the previous year, it is about 20% more …)

Not exactly the same here but I have my monthly suscription until next November 19th. I’d change it to annual yesterday evening (I had decided to do so prior to receiving their mail) but Wahoo won’t charge the 129USD until that date so, I wonder what is going to happen.

I want to believe that if you change your suscription to annual even if the due date is far away, they will stick to that price even it changes in the mean time.

Yes, we need some light here!!

We’ll have more news about what the new annual price will be later in the year (current price is $129 USD). Monthly is not going up. Price change takes effect on 1 January. If you are not yet on an annual subscription, I’d recommend getting on it! If you are on annual, but you don’t renew until sometime in 2023, you’ll have the opportunity to get in at the current price – stay tuned for details on that to come.

I also wondered about new price, but just decided to go ahead and renew even though my subscription was good through early April 2023. I renewed for the annual price of $129 and it updated my subscription through early April 2024. Simple enough. I ride outside FAR more than inside, and am not that geared to training programs, but SYSTM is invaluable to me when I DO ride inside. I’m not much for computer graphics so RGT hasn’t really grabbed me, but ON LOCATION first of all, and actual riding VIDEOS, next, and skills, drills, etc are worth my $11 month. Closing in on 65yrs old, I know SOMEday I won’t be as eager to ride outside in the brutal cold or wet or heat! Right NOW, indoors is always last choice… but I don’t usually regret it when it IS the choice… thanks to SYSTM!

@DouthatBiker I felt the same way but have actually been using RGT more than expected - recovery rides, some NoVid workouts, social rides and I am looking forward to doing a race sometime this offseason.

I agree that the total package is definitely useful.

+1 on that. I have always though that programs like Zwift and RGT could do a lot better when it comes to graphics, to me they look like graphics from way back in the 90’s and not very realistic or inspiring. I have done a few of the interactive rides though on Systm and I think they are great. Like you I often look for alternative rides when I have a longer “no vid” workout to do ( I can stand an hour but after that time stops unless I have something to look at) I did use magic roads a few times but was disappointed in the graphics until I realised my phone was not capable of showing the full graphics so I have a laptop now and will be looking forward to using that when I can find a suitable table to put it all on instead of staring at the small screen of a phone

Yes.

I’m not a minion, but I accepted the offer to lock the rate thinking I’d call the minions if it didn’t extend my subscription properly. Previously, my subscription ended in Feb 2023. Now it ends in Feb 2024. Just what you’d want.

 I know I can’t

Am i correct that you have until the end of the year to sign up before the price increase?

HEADS UP. ONLY 8 days left including today to renew for the $129 annual price (US $), as the rate increase is on November 15th, when the ANNUAL goes up to $149, according to an email I just got from Wahoo X.
I’m assuming others are getting notifications in other markets, but don’t know that for sure.
