Sufferfest remasters: Request for input/suggestions

How’s that plan coming along, Sir? :innocent: :folded_hands:

The Recharger plan is coming along well. The workout is in the works and aiming to have something to help y’all recover from SUF National Day.

I’m probably going to have to do a long indoor ride due to weather. I know that most of the longer SUF rides have been remastered. Which are the better ones? Has anyone tried It Seemed Like Thin Air? Clobber?

I don’t recall ISLTA being remastered as of yet. Maybe I’m mistaken.

My copy says a new version is available so I must not have deleted the old when after I did it last. I’m not sure if the old version will still work or I need to update it before doing it.

Both of those have been remastered.

The first half of Clobber is dull. The second half is better, but not as good as the original.

ISLTA is also not as good as the original.

I recommend Blender. It has not been remastered.

@emacdoug Ok. So, ISLTA has been remastered as well? I knew Thin Air had been remastered but I thought ISLTA was one that had not been remastered as of yet.

Yep, sadly. Both Thin Air and ISLAGIATT have been remastered. Then after a short reprieve they remastered ISLTA as well.

Ok. Thank you.

Blender hasn’t and is clearly the best SUF workout

The essence of suffering

This one is well done. Nice work everyone. The finish slowdown makes perfect sense with the video footage. For some reason power station has not made it into my rotation since 2021, so I have no memory of the original, but I always have welcomed the low cadence threshold work. It doesn’t break me the way 9 hammers did/does.

And why do you think Knights deserve things the rest of us don’t get? Do you pay more? Have you paid for longer? That’s not a solution.

Just because there’s already a bunch of retired videos that are available to Knights. But if they were made available again to all, even better, they were my go to recommended videos for newcomers. Butter was just perfect.

And Knights did pay more. In sweat, blood and tears

It’s pretty shit that wahoo gives more vids to certain members who pay the same amount as we do, ain’t it? I’m still waiting for them to make a decision that makes me think “Yes! Way to go, Wahoo!”.

Really? What is this, kindergarden?

I am not a knight so I could be wrong here, but I think this is Sufferfest legacy, and not a Wahoo invention.

I would love to have Knighthood “perks”, but I have not “qualified” for them. Still, I have no problem accepting that those who have done the quest get rewarded for their suffering.

I think you are right, it’s a legacy thing. I think I am right in saying it’s just 3 old videos, which all look very dated now, they haven’t actually made any videos just for knights, it’s just a few retired ones. One is the old version of fight club, so a duplicate really, and one I have never been able to finish, it’s brutal, then there’s the hunted and local hero. I think I am right in saying that there are plans to remaster local hero and bring it back to the main library.

In a sense those only being available to certain users is no different to the level system in zwift, where kit, bikes and some routes aren’t available until you earn so many xp, despite you all paying the same subscription. You aren’t missing out on a whole other library and it gives a ‘reward’ of sorts to those who have suffered a knighthood.
