Ermmmm, Paris - Roubaix in Belgium??? Are you sure?

A Joyride with the original story line and a motivating, enthusiastic speaker/voice over. I would rather hear Dylan’s original voiceover calling out the names of riders who are no longer part of the current race video than have this masterpiece completely replaced by a boring time trial.
Luckily I’ve downloaded the original one before it was replaced.

@Jud,
I stand corrected.

+2 on this. Clobber needs an overhaul.

+1 on all that has been said before. Joyride back to the entertaining workout it originally was, Defender, The Trick, Butter, Cobbler, Who Dares all restored to their formaer glories (storylines and humor even if the footage is different)

The final videos needing to be remastered have now been replaced in the app, they were:

  • Kitchen Sink
  • Standing Starts
  • Violator which has been renamed to ‘the 64’

You will see in these final 2 videos, we took a different approach to the footage due to the nature specific demands of each workout.

Thank you everyone for your understanding and patience during this process. This marks the end of the remastering as all expired footage is now removed. We do however remain open to feedback on these videos and make improvements to them where reasonably possible.

Is this just a remaster or a (re)remaster, i. e. turning the initial remasters into proper Sufferfest videos as promised some time ago?

Finishing the remastering was a huge effort. Thank for that! But it’s just a first step and to be honest most of the remasters look and feel like rough cuts and not final versions.

Joyride still lacks everything that made the original one unique and engaging. Defender is now some kind of “A week with” workout and no longer a Sufferfest workout. Attacker lacks a proper ending with an attack.

I thought the feedback from this community had been heard, but then you remaster violator so that it’s no longer even a SUF video. This is disappointing. Had a brief watch of a few bits of the video, looks like an hour of drone footage following a rider or is there more to it? Yes it has music but I’m afraid it looks very dull.

Just can’t get my head round the decision making by wahoo here. Take an engaging video with humour and a story line, and replace it with some footage of someone riding a bike. Is that really what people want?

Is it fair to say this means you can now dedicate the time needed for all the re-remastering™?

“TTBS Challenge - 64 efforts to resist” would be a lot more suitable imo

We will go back where possible to re-remaster and improve the storylines to make them more SUF.

We are open to your feedback and suggestions on this :goat::+1:

So in the remasters then, has all the footage now been tweaked to match the efforts?

I recall saying that imho, that would be the minimum standard as a starting point to storyline improvements.

Violator has be ‘wahooliganed.’

Oh my.. that’s… :sob:

They have to give up wahooligan. Honestly, they could just embrace the absurd and be a wahoo fish riding a bicycle. These guys sound impressive to me.

They are not giving up the wahooligan thing. It’s only a minority that are uncomfortable with the term, unless it starts costing them customers, they’re not going to care. I’m not offended by it personally but understand that it is offensive to some and why it is, but I just think it’s a bit naff. The two EF Access all areas videos, which are duller than watching paint dry, essentially just prolonged adverts, summed up how I feel about it. In one of the videos a rider has clearly been told to say she is a wahooligan at the request of the sponsor, but hallway through the sentence looks away from the camera so someone can remind her of the word she is supposed to say. I’ve never seen anything said with less conviction in my life.

@Rupert What about the videos where you removed the storyline?

  • Joyride had a brilliant storyline that was replaced by a time trial without any backstory.
  • Defender isn’t even a Sufferfest video anymore but a dull “a week with..” clone
  • Violator is now just a combination of “on location” and “a week with” and even worse it uses once again totally unacceptable hooligan wording.

I know its not an easy task to edit/modify creative masterpieces like the Sufferfest ones. David’s and Francoise’s creative talent is not something that can be learnt, but is rather a gift. So either please find someone with a similar gift or at least try to replicate the originals as close as possible.
