Do you have trouble downloading other large files?
I do sometimes see some slow downloads that take similar lengths of time. It usually happens mid-afternoon, and coincides with general internet slowness in our house. Iāll pretty much always download the workout prior to doing it, just to avoid any dependency on network bandwidth during the workout.
This might be a completely useless suggestion, but do you happen to have Firefox installed on your Surface Pro? I have had odd issues similar to your description on my desktop computer twice, possibly caused by Firefox or Adobe Lightroom (or Adobe CC). None of those are installed on my pain cave laptop which is basically flawless with SYSTM.
As an aside, I (almost) always download my workouts ahead of time because I donāt trust the WiFi in my garage. I havenāt actually timed it but I would estimate a one hour workout normally takes say 3 or 4 minutes to download.
My comment would be this is not unique to Systm. I have had āchallengesā with other platforms as well. My normal pain cave compute is a windows laptop and it sucks the worst if you are joining an event because once it goes you are dead. My backup generally is to go to my iPad but I also have Apple TV (for some software that is my most consistent) and a Samsung phone (how is that for diversity?) ā that diversity is just part of the challenge that software developers have to deal with ANT/BT which version, what devices, which version of what OS is running, what is your network like? It is a testing nightmare and so in the endā¦if plan A doesnāt work, be ready with a backup or two. And I am very happy that riding indoors is actually generally āmy backupā because as great as they areā¦I am still an outdoor kitty.
No! Only sysm and its a new problem that started last week. Since 1/6/22 I didnāt even need to download and believe it or not, I have more than 250 rides and 4000+ miles.
This morning, yes Christmas morning before 0600 mtn time it wonāt down load an hour and a half ride. You will never ever convince me that right now there is big network traffic. I tried both my Surface pro and my phone. I did my phone on the open air network and that failed as well.
Nothing at all has changed on my end. I am extremely irritated, as i said in the original post, all i want to is strap on my gear and get the work done!
It would also be awesome if you could actually talk to a tech. This contact via email many hours in between each is extremely ineffective.
how do you find the downloaded workouts on a Windows computer?
This link has information about the download location on Windows: Downloaded workouts on a windows Laptop
If you have some external drive (e.g., SD card, portable hard drive) you can set up a symbolic link/short cut to that external drive.
Iāll dig up some more details tomorrow about how to do that. I think thereās a thread somewhere here that includes the details.
Interesting reading this, been using systm for nearly a year, very stable possibly 3 issues during that time period. Since 4th December had issues with losing film, power targets still work . Currently around 35 - 40 mins in, eventually comes back. Tried reinstall systm, latest version of software on core. Added wired link to router, not tried downloading workout yet. There was an update to my samsung galaxy tab 8, around this period which i run it all from.
Swedish top notch network testing!
