Tour of Sufferlandria 2014 is on the calendar! Who's in?

Appreciate that Sir Glen. So I can count on you stepping out of the team car and on to a bike to join us. That’s great! :+1: :+1:

I have been following the conversation about changing the Tour of Sufferlandria to just The Tour. BTW - I agree, Sufferfest seems to be getting lost. Thinking about it I have decided to swap out the first Stage again. The ride I chose is not a Sufferfest ride, so I am going back to the Sufferfest stable.

The Original Ride: Time 1:00:00 - IF 0.73 - TSS 55.
I am going to sub the closest stat line, which is The Trick. Its Ride: Time 0:58:00 - IF 0.76 - TSS 56. So while a tiny bit shorter, it is a tick higher IF and TSS. And it is a Knighthood approved ride so it is no walk in the park. So here is the final schedule. We embark next Saturday on Stage 1.

ToS - 2014
The Trick
ISLAGIATT
Revolver
Hell Hath No Fury
Extra Shot + The Wretched
A Very Dark Place
Angels + The Hunted
Blender
Violator

The IF for me, for The Trick based on old AC numbers but fresh MAP and FTP is 1.01.

Haven’t done it in 3 years and back then it was completed at an IF of .95 on one occasion and .91 on another. My note on one of them was: arghhhhhhh!!!

Just wanted to wish you all the best on this ToS. And may GvA have mercy on your soul!

I just added all the rides to my calendar. The longest day, Stage 7, with Angels + The Hunted, falls on Friday the 13th. How fitting. :persevere:

Stage 1 is in the books. I did it in the early hours of the 50 hour window. Did Open 15 as a warm up. The Trick came in just a tick above 100% with the IF up 0.01 & TSS up 1.

Tomorrow - ISLAGIATT

Strong start :muscle:

I never enjoy The Trick - the gentle and relaxed part are great, but those brutal bits break me every time

Wishing you strong legs and lungs for the rest of the tour :lungs: :leg:

Excellent! Such a massive goal you’ve set for yourself Sir Stuart! Did you run to the top without the bike like Froomie, or did you throw it over your shoulder?

I’d like a photo of you running up a hill with your Kickr Bike thrown over your shoulder!

I was looking for something more like this:

Well it may have Seemed Like A Good Idea, but it wasn’t. Couldn’t hold 100% into the Mt Sufferlandria ride. Dialed it back and then started dialing it back up again. I did finish and it was the farthest I have ridden on that ride so there’s that.

Seven stages to go.

Hello everyone, emeritus knights, nobles and humble peasants of The Suffer Land, and especially Sir @Critmark . I’m relatively new to the forum, and normally not very active in these kind of media. I have cycled a lot indoors at another stage of my life and now I see myself again in the conditions to cycle indoors again and how much has changed! I was a big fan of the Sufferfest videos in 2015 and 2018 when i had to ride indoors but I’ve never embarked on this odyssey that is a Tour of Sufferlandria. Looking forward if it will be this year, with so much uncertainty that I realized here in the forum.
I arrived at this post from Nobel Sir @Glen.Coutts , whom I confided that I was starting the 2013 Tour in the last week of 2022 with the aim of covering all the previous editions. unfortunately due to the day to day circumstances I was unable to complete the Tour of Sufferlandria 2013 within the rules, and on the 5th day I could not make it and had to humbly drop down. However, with Sir Glenn’s tip for this quest, I was tempted to go along with it, but I didn’t comment right away due to the uncertainty of the current days. Yesterday I couldn’t pedal and I got a little frustrated. As it would be my first “semi-official”, I thought that if it hadn’t been 50 hours before the start of Sir @Critmark Tour, maybe I could still line up. And that’s one of the questions i kindly ask might King.
Challenged a few weeks ago, I did the Full Frontal today. If Sir @Critmark and High Sufferlandrian royalty approve my entry I will try to continue and match the calendar. And then try to do the 2013 Tour before Sir @Critmark announces the 2015 edition.
If not, I can go back to the 2013 and start over.
Would glady receive your recommendations! I hope not to affront Sir @Critmark for having done the FullFrontal and considering starting the Tour of Sufferlandria 2014 with this stage, but as I saw this possibility in some msgs back, I thought it would also make sense to create the levels for the next stages. Or not.

Happt new yea and may the force be with you all, in Sufferlandria!

Not gonna speak for the esteemed Sir @Critmark but ALL are welcome here. I’m betting Sir Stuart will appreciate the company on these retro Tours regardless of how you manage it @Tiago_Branco. That you’re doing it at all shows your true Sufferlandrian heritage.

Fwiw, I’ve been called many MANY things but I don’t think I’ve ever been called “Noble” :joy:

Sorry Sir @Glen.Coutts I didn’t meant to be disrespectful in any way. Just wanted to extend the greeting to the entire hierarchy of Sufferlandrians :stuck_out_tongue:

thank you very much for the welcome, tough!
