Understanding the new Wahoo price increase

FWIW I haven’t been able to renew with an existing subscription (April 2026).

Error reads users with an active subscription can’t redeem this offer.

T’s&C’s also state:

2.3 Promo Codes cannot be used with existing subscriptions. Existing subscriptions will need to expire, or be canceled, in order to redeem a Promo Code.

YMMV

What is wrong with these people at Wahoo? why make things so ambiguous? Simple: “Members who renew before the 20th October 2025 will only pay $129 for one year starting from the day their current subscription expires” Instead of writing gobbledegook which leaves us up in the air? Also, they are still soldiering on with this Wahooligan term which for years many on here have been complaing about and do not like. I am not tempted by this offer TBH and will not be renewing my subscription and felt things weren’t the same since Sir Neal got booted out . Bit by bit I have been saving the ZWO files of most of my favourite workouts/rides from Systm and downloading them onto Rouvy and the only thing I will miss are the Pro ride series which I did really like as something different to the other offerings. Things are getting expensive for me whose only income is my pension so I had to make some choices as running 3 subscriptions is not viable anymore. I found that Rouvy has everything i want ( real road footage, training plans, masses of workout, more stats than you can shake your fist at to name just a few) and was the best all round option meaning that Zwift will also go when my subscription for that expires.

Sir Neal’s voice would have probably been replaced with some AI bot’s voice, you know Wahoomigation and to erase whatever SUF that’s been left behind?

For this instance, you just need to cancel you existing subscription and then you should be able redeem the promo after. You won’t have to wait for it to expire.

So, if you cancel your current subscription it will still run until it naturally expires, I know this as I have done it. You have told us that once you pay for this offer, the “new” subscription will run for a year from that date. How does this work? you will have two subscriptions running? So I think you have missed the point? people don’t want to cancel whats left of their current subscription, they just want assurance that accepting this offer and paying now for it will come into effect for a year from the expiration of their current subscription. How difficult can that be?

The day I received the message regarding the price increase, I went to the site and renewed using the promo code. Here’s my account status now. My card will be charged $129 plus tax next July when my current year renews. No canceling of my current subscription was required.

I apologize for the confusion. If you cancel the subscription and then redeem the promotion you should not have two simultaneous subscriptions. For example, if you are subscribed with Wahoo on an annual subscription, then cancel your current subscription and apply for the promotion, you will not be charged until your current annual subscription expires.

If you are currently subscribed through Apple or Playstore, you will have to first cancel your current subscription there to redeem the promotion.

If you have trouble or experience issues through this process, please reach out to our
customer service team.

Bump

Correct, it is not integrated in the SYSTM training plans and scheduling.

Thanks for confirming

@alia.wahoo and if i subscribe to the promotion today, and my current subscription, which I have cancelled, ends in November, when does the promotion subscription run from? Thank you for clearing this up.

Hi Anne,

If you canceled your current subscription and it ends in November. If you redeem the promotion now, your new subscription with the promotion will start in November (at the end of your current billing cycle) and will be valid for 1 year from that point (so will be valid through November 2026)

Thank you @alia.wahoo . I just didn’t want to loose 4 months of my current annual subscription which is set to renew on January 20, 2026.

I was on Sufferfest Monthly 2020 plan still being billed £11.25 a month in GBP. Does this price increase affect that and what is the new cost in GBP? Will it just be changed to billing in USD and whatever my exchange rate comes out at?

With the raft of free stuff out there now I have to consider if its worth continuing, which I think is no accident as we head into the winter period for the northern hemisphere

EDIT: OK that works out at about another £2 a month, so maybe not that big a deal!

I hesitated almost two weeks but will put my salt in this wound, sorry guys (Sufferlandrians and W***).

For me - seems like I wrote it before - coming to The SUFFERFEST back in the days was almost thrilling decision, so badass everything have looked (and well, it was, too!). So in this matter I am rather disappointed with remasters (e.g. Recharger? Oh nooo, it was a great way to reboot my brains after tough days in the office).

Now, as a regular person, who does fitness to stay healthy and for fun, involved in multiple activities (hiking, running, swimming, cycling) I am truly interested in cycling and yoga content here, maybe mental toughness. Taking the phone to the gym to imitate a running workout on a treadmill - well, too much hassle. Sorry.

Thus, right now the scenario for me is cycling sessions for winter season (I won’t do any single one in summer inside) and some yoga. Having an option to Zwift on Apple TV (did I said I will put more salt into this wound?) I don’t want to mess around with AirPlay and so on to have Wahoo workouts on my tv, although it could be nice.

Having that said, I am actually looking on 18 Euro/Month for Wahoo (with AirPlay and other fun) or 20 Euro/Month for Zwift (no-hassle) and it’s really tough to make decision in favour of Wahoo, if Sufferfest workouts are gone. I like OnLocation with Mike Cotty and some others, but in the sense of workout they are not too different from (sorry) anything else.

This winter, I will go for Wahoo again - maybe one last time. Hoping for Tour of SUF or designing my own. Perhaps one last time.

P.S. about infamous W*** name. (one last time, I promise, then I shut up)

You guys took out almost everything Sufferlandrian (flag, colours, etc) - appealing to connection to German nazi. But sorry - people are different, and I don’t have this feel of guilty, even knowing very well about nazi past. Greetings from Munich, btw!

However, let’s check the alternative offered, namely hooligan:

The smell for me is not different from nazi connection of old Suf, you appeal to.

So how is your offering different?

Dixi.

So basically, pay more for the same content and some cycling analytics that every other app has been providing for years.
This and the removal of the Sufferfest has seen me move on. So many other platforms offer more for less.

Not just the same content, but content, some of which, isn’t as good as it was a year ago. Some of the new features are a bit of a flop too. The suggested workouts feature is, and I wish I could be more constructive, frankly useless. I don’t really get the real world rides feature; If I understand correctly you stare at a blank screen whilst the app imitates the gradient of a real world course. Other apps do this coupled with footage. Doesn’t really fit what used to be the USP of SYSTM, of engaging workout videos.
